This seems like the reversal of the kid who came back to Edina last year from the private school sector. Apparently his folks lived in the Edina district before and after his move to the private sector so he was allowed to play both football and hockey once he came back to the public school. So how ...

Wearing a good quality mouthguard in addition......
Wear a mouthguard. It's not for your teeth--it's to prevent concussions. It's not doing you any good jammed in your facemask.

If you have less Minnesota kids leaving high school for the USHL you'll have less kids drafted, why draft a kid that you don't know that will play for you? I think we're seeing a combination of the Elite League being a viable option to junior hockey for upcoming seniors, a rise in other areas in te...

Maybe it's time to expand your horizons if that's how you feel. Believe it or not but MN is not the only place in America people play hockey. Great hockey players can grow up from anywhere-- even Indiana the state of basketball! (case in point John Michael Liles). I'm winging this one so no numbers...

Anyone noticing a growing trend of MN kids not being drafted in the USHL draft??? I noticed that too. Almost seems like a deliberate attempt to undermine the current MN high school system in favor of the AAA system. AAA money feeds the hockey machine. MN high school doesn't provide any money. It ha...

Does anyone else find it a little funny that they clearly wanted to go with the Edina team to headline this anticipating they would win the state title and it would be this great story since they stayed together. But once they lost they had to fade away from their intro just a little. That's sort o...

I have to disagree. I've seen hundreds of junior hockey games, mostly NAHL, but some USHL and I've seen the Ice Hawks and a couple of other MJHL teams. While the atmosphere at the Ice Hawks arena is fantastic and their fans couldn't be more supportive, the quality of hockey is no where near middle o...

If this year is a indicator of what the future holds for the U, I'd rather be a Husky or a Maverick recruit than a Gopher. Lucia focuses on the all-stars who either fizzle or leave for the pros. Better to have some lesser known guys who can grind and actually play the game than rather those who don'...

Re: Thank you to the listeners of MSBN broadcast
The broadcasters were excellent. We hooked in speakers to all computer terminals and had coverage on at our shop through the entire 4 day broadcast. Without you, we wouldn't have been able to hear the games.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I haven't found any confirmation of this. Has anyone else?
I'm reluctant to believe the MSHSL would react that fast to a fundraiser. If anyone has anything to say I would think it would be gambling control. It's a game of skill and generally those are banned. Lets hope this all stays on the DL as far as everyone is concerned.

You Don't think Elite II is a showcase?
"Are you using Elite II as a showcase? That's what it sounds like. Saying again, Elite II is not a promotional league. It is mainly a developmental league for underclassmen and a few others trying to develop for their upcoming high school seasons. It isn't a "scouted" league. Saying ...

But if the student doesn't play varsity at school #2 (as in Nick Pryor's case) why punish him? Same for billeting with a jr program--why should we make student's drive back and forth daily to practice with the team? If academics allow for it--why not let them stay with a billet? Seems like the safer...

It's about time the new rules were challenged.
There are so many gray areas in the new rules that mainly affect hockey. This is one of them. I agree. Let the kid play. Don't make the parents jump through hoops just to prove a point. I'm sure they'll buy a different house if that's what it comes down to (if this whole story is true), but they sho...
