Boy you sound like just the thing these boards have been waiting for, a person that knows everything about hockey. What an idiot. Just who do you think will do the work required to insure YOUR kid has a place to play hockey. While I do not doubt there are board members that may have alterior motives...

An option would be to develop district wide Elite teams, call the team Tier I if you want. This would allow the top 1-3 players, maybe more, from any one association to compete on a fairly localized team against other District Tier I teams. This would allow associations to cater to a more focussed g...

Slasher sorry if I projected my experiences over yours. You seem to understand where I am coming from. It is just a matter of mutual respect. Emails are great and any board member should appreciate that and be prompt in responding to your questions. Regarding board meetings, I really do not like lea...

Well you have sniffed out the right association, wrong guy. I know Pat though, I have coached with him and my kid has played for him. If he has supposedly burned a bridge that is too bad. Let's back up here,I have not said anything in this thread that is negative to Minnesota Made. What I have state...

I was simply stating that Board members have to have personal time. Assume anything? me? Not. You have the track record there. A board member has the right to choose when and who they talk to. Yes it would be nice to have a member actualy request a meeting instead of expecting me to send my wife and...

Slasher I think the request for you to attend a board meeting to air your ideas/complaints is acceptable. I also think association members should respect the board volunteers personal time. Board members are only volunteers. They spend untold hours planning and operating your childs youth hockey exp...

It was reported that the kid had stretched ligaments.....no break. Apparently this came from the father of the player. If true then you have to question whether an ambulance is necessary. All within seconds of a goal being scored and several of his players looking to regain their marbles after being...

I saw the collision. MV kid (Menk-undersized to say the least) was about to level the Stillwater kid. Both moving at a high speed in opposite direction toward each other. Menk stepped up from his blue diagonally across the ice as the SW kid caught a sucker pass, had they hit each other they both wou...

Our mite program is run similarly to yours. I am a coach. My son is in the highest group. Our district also eliminated the D mite/pony program years ago. I am not posting to argue whether or not that has impacted the play of our local athletes. Rather, I would like to address your point about segreg...

So why is it that people who post questions like this always get jumped on? Could it be that they are simply curious to know if there are any boys out there that have excelled to this point? I think this is an acceptable question. I don't think the original post said anything about where the kids wi...

My association went through this situation 4 - 5 years ago at the peewee/bantam level. A group of last year PW's and bantams went to play for a AAA team during winter. They were not happy with the development opportunities being offered by the association at the time. Other circumstatnces involved a...

I think what you are trying to say is, Why aren't they moved to a stronger conference? The reason is that at Hill Murray they actually play other sports with relatively limited success. The current conference is a perfect fit for the school for any sport other than hockey in boys and girls activitie...

Then Why Blue Pucks
To tell you the truth I would much rather see a kid using a 1 piece stick than watch mites using a blue puck. Ultimately, Who cares what they use. I like one piece because I watch kids get more creative with the puck. Young players are expanding their reach far outside their bodies earlier than I ha...

Seriously, who cares if the private school bantam team is called A or B or C? In reality they will recruit the best players into their program to begin teaching their system. With the promise of achieving Hockey success, parents will send kids to these schools with the hope of being in the state tou...

Sorry to say this to all you who wish this was an inside job for whatever reason. In fact a person was caught in the act, in a locker room, pillaging hockey bags last weekend. Several dads held the person until authorities arrived. In fact it was NOT a Super Rink employee. Let's hope that the Super ...

Commitment summer only?
A very solid account of the offseason (April - August) program for the Machine teams. What was not mentioned however are the mulititude of "OPTIONAL - Not required but highly suggested" weekly skates that Bernie drops on the team/families at a moments notice ("Open ice? hmmm let's see...

Machine vs Blades
For one if Bernie knows you are waivering between Blades and Machine, you better not let him know. You will get hounded day and night to chose the Machine. If you chose the blades be prepared to be shunned by Bernie. The Machine is aggressive in its attempts to lure players to play for them. That is...

8 year olds?
Word is that the league has expanded to 8 teams and many of the additional kids are as young as 6. Sounds like what was once billed as a squirt A prep league is turning into a money hungry - one level association program with a lot of ice. I feel sorry for the kids that actually think the competitio...
