and also as for "the whole team was smoking weed" I feel like that's a pretty harsh and untrue generalization. Do you honestly think ALL the kids were? Yes, I've heard there have been some bad apples in the Stillwater Hockey past but from what I've heard, this year is completely different....

Perhaps everyone should stop blaming the coaching staff and look at the kids. Matt Johnson, a junior captain, hasn't scored a goal in how many games? The ponies go scoreless for games in a row. How many teams in the MSHSL lose that many games 2-0 or 2-1? Yes, they play a tough schedule but the defen...

To be honest, I don't think its necessarily the talent that's the issue. I mean the ponies had two guys play in the elite league (Molstad, Johnson) and from the games its clear that it takes a whole team to win. Half the teams in the SEC didnt have a single player in thh league. Johnson seems to be ...

Stillwater Vs. Mahtemedi

Whos going to take this one? interesting how the two teams play their games, practice, and both have their home locker rooms at the same rink. I doubt many teams playing each other tonight will board their busses from the same rink.

i got out to the stillwater vs mounds view game at stillwater just last week. Following one of the periods, mounds view was on the ice first waiting for stillwater to return. Apparently, someone wasn't aware of what CD must have been in the player because the music was the chipmunks christmas song- ...

Really entertaining stuff. I'm somewhat surprised nothing more was posted about this. Apparently, it was a 5-5 brawl- most were without helmets and gloves- when the Roseville goalie jumped in, and the Stillwater goalie came flying down, battled it out and both were disqualified. Something you don't ...

I would not be surprised if Lehrke sets a HS scoring record this year. Yes, a bold statement, but the way he's been playing and with the caliber (or lack thereof) of their schedule, he could put up Festler-like numbers

i can agree they were extremely inaccurate. Best bet at scouting kids is checking the Central Scouting List, Selects rosters and read up on the board, its easy to get a pretty good sense of the top players

Based on the word I heard from their scrimmages in Duluth, Brown and Molstad were starting (Line 1) and were matched up against the Hendrickson, Barnes, and Perisic line and apparently shut them down pretty well. It should be interesting to see where the offense comes from this year, it seems like t...

johnsons obviously a good player and molstad played on the White NIT team after the elite league. Housley knows what he's doing, he generally seems to put together a pretty sound defensive team. They beat Hermantown pretty bad and I read somewhere they beat Burnsville as well, two pretty solid teams

I got the chance to see kogler during the elite league and I would agree that, yes, he is a talented player, but a single goal scorer won't get you far in the SEC. If I remember correctly, Forest Lake graduated 13 seniors last year, not necessarily a strong senior class, but the core of the varsity ...

What are some predictions for this weekend? This is one of the most highly scouted hockey events in the nation, very important to the guys participating so it should be some fun hockey to watch!

I would agree that the conference is up for grabs. I would say Cretin and and White Bear always seem to put together good teams but this year, they don't quite have the same level of talent. Roseville, Stillwater, Woodbury all have a chance to be top contenders. Some key players to these teams this ...

It was a joke. It just made my point about heel to toe tape meaningless. The real question is what scores more goals, black or white tape?

its heel to toe so there is spin on the puck when a shot is taken which causes the puck saucer. The tape peels back when the puck rolls from heel which makes this happens. At least that's how Bjugstad teaches it.
