checking in the MSHSL

I think 1971 was the first year that the MSHSL allowed players to check in the offensive zone. I believe we were playing 15 minute periods by then as well.

Met Center

The Met Center is fine example of an excellant hockey facility! Great ice, great sign lines, and many fond memories of high school playoffs and tourneys. Some of the finest ice I ever skated on!

Best RINKS

Many of the facilities in the discussion were built as Multi-use facilities, such as Bemidji's new rink. The facilities that were built specifically for hockey such as Hibbing, Eveleth, Roseau, The Gardens at Warroad, Little Ralph, and so on, have by far the best sight lines and viewing for our spor...

White on White

Green would have been nice, but Roseau was the home team, as is Moorhead. The white on white was not nearly as bad as the camera set-ups by FSN looking into the sun causing soooo much glare it was hard to see the puck!

Re: Good news for Moorhead Spuds Fans????

Rumor has it that Roseau's coach Bill Lund is going to retire after this year... Now all of you in Moronville have a shot at going to STATE!!! I'm glad that Billy and the rest of the coaching staff don't take the time to read this classy (not) crap from his freinds. This staff has and is working to...

Buffalo's semi final 8AA game had to move them to one of the most disappointing teams of the year. Roseau 8, Buffalo 0 (7 shots on goal!) The Rams could have rested Mike Lee for a game and still won! Can't say disaappointing about Park Rapids overall season, but how in the world did they get ...

maybe elliott will have a "logical" analysis to look at  I gave my analysis prior to the game in another thread. PR needed something positvie(s) early on and had to keep EGF off the scoreboard early. PR did not have enough experience in playing this type of game. Playing B hockey a...

FYI, Various congregations in Roseau have re-scheduled their traditional Wednesday night Lenten Services for Tuesday night to allow the Ram faithful to go to the Section 8AA final with a clear conscience. Maybe that gives the Big Guy the night off as well to cheer for his favorite team, whomever tha...

I think any team from the metro has to be considered a darkhorse as it appears the only place where quality high school is played is up north. :D And you are just figuring that out now? Couldn't tell in your private school post but you are talking hockey right? How is high school played? &qu...

Edina Upset

greenway1969 edina never beat roseau in the late 90s, in 1997 edina beat hill-murray in the semis and went on to beat duluth east 1-0. In 1998 Roseau beat Edina in the quarters 4-3 in ot. What year was this Edina upset over Roseau and was it at state? 1971 featured a Ram team that had Mike Broten o...
