Sorry if I missed this somewhere, but just checked the WAHA site, and didn't see the Fire out there in the state tournament brackets. What's up?

Why Bother?
MN Hockey is the exclusive affiliate of USA Hockey in the state of Minnesota. USA Hockey is the exclusive affiliate of the International Ice Hockey Federation in the US. Not being an affiliate of this trio does not stop you from playing hockey. Whether you are a private school or a AAA team, nothing...

MN Hockey & Private Schools
I've posted similar, and don't understand why the Metro area private schools don't just forget MN Hockey, and form their own league. It's not difficult to self insure. No rules, except the ones the league creates, and no waivers. Instead of the private parents complaining, do some leg work, and get ...

Sanctioned Teams
A team is USA Hockey sanctioned ONLY by registering through their affiliate, in this case MN Hockey. You can't register a sanctioned team in MN without it being both.
All of Shattuck's teams are registered with MN/USA Hockey.

Minutes and Budget
In the new minutes there are a few comments on 'conflict of interest'. How about a itemized list of stipends (let's just say ALL accounts payable), amount and recipient... for the last 5 years? How many of those do you think are on the board of MN Hockey? I'm sure it's not making anyone rich (at lea...

Private Schools
I sent my kids to a parochial school. They played hockey at their local association. Everyone blast MN Hockey on this issue. MN Hockey isn't stopping the private schools from fielding teams, and or their own league. They are only stopping them from fielding a USA Hockey sanctioned team. Either follo...

Got it a little backwards....
Observer, ther are no restictions on residence (meaning any state) but they do require a certain % from Wisconsin, exact amount I'm not sure . This is determined by Wisconsin hockey rules. You say poor management/administration, sneaky, rule violating, I am not aware of any...

Voting Issues
I agree with a lot of what is said on this thread. Just a couple of comments. The two HS reps, represent ONLY those in the elite category, and should not have voting positions. The Adult/Womens/Junior positions should ONLY be allowed to vote on issues related to themselves. The controller is one of ...

MN Hockey
Step 1: Get this overturned at the June Meeting Step 2: Get rid of EVERYONE above the District Director level. It's about time that these self-serving idiots go. Hopefully, this issue has enough backing to turn MN Hockey around into an organization that is there for the 98% of the YOUTH players that...

Direct mailing
If a direct mailing was sent to these kids,
1) Is the Ex Director responsible?
2) Who paid for What?
3) Has MN Hockey demanded his resignation?
With screening, etc, PRIVACY OF MINORS is a priority. Where does this fit in?

One of the best
One of the best coaches I've ever seen comes from a traditionally non-winning association. He teaches responsibility, team work and team involvement. He makes it fun for the kids, and I've never heard him say anthing negative. Everything is a learning experience. He's got a history of producing fine...

End Around
By doing the end around, and playing without an affiliate agreement, they should not be playing in any palyoffs, and for Richfield allowing this, they should also be sanctioned.

About Time...
As a parent, and active volunteer, I recognise all of the issues listed that have been previously addressed. I have more that are pointed to the BOD of MN Hockey: 1) What is the salary (+ benefits) that is to paid to the Executive Director and the part time assistant? Publish the contract. 2) Why ar...

MN Hockey
Let's get this out of the way. I AM NO FAN OF MINNESOT HOCKEY. BUT, on this and numerous other posts, people bash the group. There are a couple things that never are addressed by those that are complaining. 1) Minnesota Hockey registers over 50,000 members. Aside from those players that are invited ...

Registration
1) The rule providing that players with U12 and U14 eligibility left have a letter (on school letterhead) stating that they have previously played hockey at a HS level has been there since the inception of B&A teams. 2) This group of teams wanted what the boys had, so follow the rules. 3) This g...

Cheating???
your not a parent; i agree that you do have a claim, but it is summer hockey. Summer hockey just keeps you in shape for winter hockey.
So does Baseball, Soccer, Lacrosse, RollerBlading, and so on. And they don't take your checkbook to the cleaners. AAA is for the people running it. If...

Evaluators
I may be wrong, but with the exception of Winny, weren't the evaluators D3 coaches. I realize that the HS coaches on the bench probably had some input, but they didn't have the final say. If they proceed with this NEW process, isn't it taking a step backwards? BUT, more kids, more money, more stipen...

A couple more comments...
Regarding Winny evaluating: She's one of the fairest people I've run across. She risked the vindictive parent that won't send their kids back because she didn't send them off to Phase 3. Regarding the new format for next year: I can't believe that this is for anything other than money and the fact t...

National Development Program
I've heard a rumor that the NDP will be run in the same manner as the boys next year (ie: Sections). Does anyone have any insight on this? Will this be run by the HS coaches? What was the reasoning behind this change? It seems that by going to sections, that the stronger sections won't be able to se...

Question
If they don't have good tryouts and aren't picked, but had either a great season, or are the 'outstanding' players, why have tryouts?
Someone can just pick the best players.

Talent Pool
Watched three of the four sessions. I was very impressed with the talent pool. It will certainly be difficult for the evaluators to make their picks, as I'm sure Minnesota would like to send more than their allotted number. Congratulations to those that make Phase III. For those that don't, you did ...

Showcase
The deadline for rosters, as listed on the Showcase website, is 3/30/07. Just thought it would be done by now. Does anyone know if the MN team will follow the non-D1 commitment rule that the boys follow?
