Sorry but I have to disagree with Frederick61 on the EP/PL game. I know our esteemed blogger would have you believe that the Prior Lake defeat lay in the hands of the Eden Prairie goalie. But in no way did the EP defense and forwards not play their part in the victory. To read his brief account is ...

Edina lost Walker and Malmquist to Edina high school. You mean may lose a couple to HS? Aren't tryouts still a couple of weeks away? 9th graders that hope to make varsity? Neither player signed up or try'd out for Bantams. Both have their sights set on Varsity or JV rosters. or the blades... Say wh...

I like the new Tourney format. Is this the first year of the new format, double elimination with a back door, or was it used last year too? http://www.minnesotahockey.org/page/show/160561-west-region The double elim format is what was used back in the day before MN hockey went to the pool play. The...

As a fan of EP hockey, I cannot express enough how disappointed I have been in the lack of student support for one of the top teams in the State. For a school as big as EP to have such a small and disengaged group of students following them is embarrasing. Not sure what the issue is as 2 years ago w...

What games are on internet this weekend

Looking at both myfoxhockey and foxsportsnorth sites, I can't find schedule for tomorrow's games. Does anyone know if they are carrying any of the sectional games tomorrow?

Two thrillers in District 6 tonight:

Waconia 3
Tonka 2

Waconia scores two goals in last few minutes to rally back for the win.

Eden Prairie 3 (Shootout)

New Prague 2

Very good game, even all the way.

EP has had their mites almost exclusively over at Velocity Hockey (small rink) for a few years now. I agree at this age level, the smaller rink is the way to go. You can augment this with a regulation size game now and then, but better skills will be developed on the smaller rink.

kind of a bummer... Kids always love getting out of school on Friday to play, plus I don't like the idea of making teams play 2 games in one day in the State tournament. Games can go to OT and other things can arise that make it a bit unfair to some teams by having to play again that same day. State...

If you are talking "top developers", then it is not even close:

ROSEAU

Population 2500, and they consistently crank out high-end players and teams.
