Re: NTDP Eval Camp

Like Robert Frost's poem, 'The Road not Taken', whenever a person is facing a choice between two options, one will leave things undone or missed out on in life. Leaving for the national camp offers a lot as shown in a previous post. Will it improve their skills - hockey skills, pretty sure it does ...

Re: NTDP Eval Camp

51 Do you realize you just called a ton of great Minnesota hockey players complete morons I believe 51 said to “pass up a spot”. How many great MN hockey players were offered a spot and declined to play ntdp over high school hockey instead? I am sure there is maybe someone that I haven’t heard abou...

Re: Tonka 18-0 over STMA

Javon Moore had 1 A. Several goals were scored by Scheetz (6th in scoring), Browning (13th), Baer (10th) and Lunski (9th) while several assists went to House (12th), Baer, Stout (7th), Thompson (15th) and Browning. Are they supposed to sit their top players for the rest of the game once they reach ...

Re: 2023-24 Season Transfers

I mean if you just go by last year, Kam and the Storm beat Tonka once and took them to OT in section final . So he probably has at least an even chance of getting to the X in front of 19000 people with his buddies . If he does , he will have a decent chance of winning it . Hard to pass up that life...

Re: What’s going on in Tonka?

I'll make the point about Tonka I've made earlier - gotta offset the incoming HS move ins with the outgoing association star kids that have gone elsewhere - Beckett Hendrickson , Drew Stewart , and Kam Hendrickson to name a few recent ones Brinks another outgoing one - left Tonka after soph year . ...

Re: What’s going on in Tonka?

MN Hockey (as one of the 12 USA Hockey Districts) won't grant them the proper status...they do allow SSM the proper status.

Perhaps you know first hand. If so, good for him. Be interesting to see how he evolves. I haven’t seen him play much admittedly. Off to a slow start in his ushl games against much older competition.

Re: 2023 Elite League Rosters

I think it is in-vogue to just say kids are getting "a large" of NIL money. There were rumors Cooley was offered $75k from MN to go...that is not accurate from credible sources. Most likely the money that is being offered outside of scholarship is the Alston money. This was a supreme court...

Last year Chaska announced Wishart, Scheetz, and Bruender as captains and 2 went to juniors and 1 transferred to another high school 6-8 weeks into the school year.

Re: MN Lakers 14U to Nationals

I have requested the financial records regarding tier 1 and plan on reviewing it to determine if it is a money grab. Elliott- Is it true that MN Hockey is shutting down all Tier 1 hockey, including U16 even if kids don't have bantam eligibility, starting in 2024 (not this upcoming year)? Heard (not...

Are you referring to Poul Anderson & Baumgartner leaving BSM?
If true, I think one of those players will be onto his 4th program in 6 years.

Weird, that similar to Miller, rumors around EP were that Townsend wasn't coming back. But then he was just announced as a captain for next year, so who knows? Chaska announced Wishart, Bruender, Scheetz, Rinzell as captains a yr ago and none of them came back. Scheetz only one to stay and play mns...

Re: MN Lakers 14U to Nationals

Elliot, fair points and agreed. The spirit of “non profit” is different. And MN Hockey does have a “spirit” of not getting rich and trying to do what they feel is best for youth hockey. I think they get it right the vast majority of times. Lots of great people who are working hard and not getting ne...

Re: MN Lakers 14U to Nationals

Someone keep me honest but 3 years ago mn hockey defined the season starting Oct 1 ending after youth state tournaments. Per USA hockey guidelines you cannot be dual rostered so once oct 1 hit if you are playing association hockey you can’t do both. This gave tier 1 programs about 6 weeks of trainin...

Re: MN Lakers 14U to Nationals

I don't think the Blades really desire to play in the National tournament. And I don't think not 'being allowed' has hurt their organization. If they desired it why have they never appeared at a BOD meeting and requested it. The few people that come on this board (anonymously) and argue the Blades ...
