Re: Chanhassen Cutting players from Captains Practice
Captains practice is essentially a funding operation outside of obvious preparation for the upcoming season. It's nearly unheard of for programs to not take as many kids as possible as it's 600-700 a pop, which goes a long way these days. Is Chan that deep this year to do that?

Re: Cretin
Appears both Chorlton and Max Anderson gone as neither were named as captains. Big loss for the Raiders. Celski also gone from WBL. I would have thoguht all 3 were B&A candidates. I thought the increasing age of D1 rosters would increase likelihood of kids staying in MSHSL through Sr. Year and ...

Re: HS Elite League Rosters
Can I ask a serious question What has happened to the HS Elite league I thought it was a place to keep upcoming high school Juniors and Seniors from leaving for the USHL/junior league. In the last several years, its appears it's a political Sh*tstorm riddled with 9th graders or move in from out of ...

Re: Official Coaching Openings - 2025-26
Sounds like there’s a mass departure happening in Shakopee. Up to 6 players are rumored to be leaving the program. Can anyone confirm this? Are they just going back to where they came from? I know there was at least one Chan/Chaska kid at Shakopee. No - junior teams. And it is my understanding that...

Sounds like there’s a mass departure happening in Shakopee. Up to 6 players are rumored to be leaving the program. Can anyone confirm this? If the top 2 go - the rest apparently are going to as well. It’s done pretty much. Shakopee is losing a ton. Which means kids move up meaning even at the Banta...

Re: Official Coaching Openings - 2025-26
Flynn Sandburg would have competed for the starting goalie job at Centennial is leaving to play AAA in Michigan. Heard it’s either HoneyBaked or Little Caesar’s. I don't get the appeal of heading over to those T1 teams. There seems to be several more MN kids that will be heading out to MI, I think ...

Re: Cole Bumgarner
Seems like it would have been fun to stay at Shakopee, play in hockey day MN, go to state tournament with a shot to win it, get all the press and coverage you could possibly want as a player. Be the top dog at walking down halls at the high school hang with all your buddies, play some poker with bo...

What do you mean? It's a valid skill in the NHL to be able to move at the drop of a dime year to year on contracts, trades and free agent day to day activities.

The comments are entertaining. But don't know how you expect the locker room to be tight when you've got kids who slide in and out like this.

Re: Cole Bumgarner
There are some other kids at the youth level giving him a run for his money. Younger Crowley will play at SSM making that his 3rd team in 3 years, the Stewart kid goes from Hastings err Woodbury err Edina err Shako and now I hear SSM too. The Stewart family is just as if not even more bonkers if you...

Re: Official Coaching Openings - 2025-26
Any feedback or observations from the HS summer programs going on out there? What I've noticed thus far has been Shattuck seems to have picked up quite a few kids all through the age ranges that ultimately will affect the upcoming and future rosters. Holy Family looks to have a TON of kids incoming ...

Re: Eden Prairie -- Coop with Who?
Scroll up. You lose your top player in Moe and the twins who were arguably in that tier as well after rolling them all season long catering to their needs. You played your cards wrong. You attempt to combo with another team or factually, multiple teams all of which did not pan out. Now you are left ...

Re: Hermantown 2025-26
Hermantown will be fine, but they will be nowhere near as dominant as they were in years past. Last year I believe was the start of a trend heading back to “good but not dominant”. From what I’ve seen the pipeline at RR and even East looks more promising. Sure, Hermantown will always draw the transf...

Re: Eden Prairie -- Coop with Who?
I've previously praised Coach Persian in the past but it's time for me to jump on the bandwagon of EP needs to move in another direction. If you are in the know you probably feel the same. The wheels appear to have fallen off the wagon and it's time to give some hope back for what seems to be a dwin...

Farewell to the Govies
Found this out there. Sad to see another program with such rich tradition go down.

Re: Eden Prairie -- Coop with Who?
I think the bigger question here is what are youth programs doing to recruit girls to play. Clearly there are uphill battles to be fought with other sports requiring people to play year-round but a school that has nearly 3,000 students should be able to get 30 girls to play hockey. Yes, demographic...

Re: Eden Prairie -- Coop with Who?
Moe to Edina is brutal. The twins at their 3rd program in so many years. EP co-op’d with PL at 15’s a few years ago but I guess PL has the numbers to stand on their own.

Re: Official Coaching Openings - 2025-26
There are definitely parents who refuse to see the writing on the wall but to the point of these advisors all having ill intensions, I do not believe that to be the case. Sure they make a living doing this type of work but it could simply be about a kid wanting to extend playing a game he/she loves....

Re: Official Coaching Openings - 2025-26
One thing I think people who say “EP won’t get as many transfers as you think” forget what Lincoln does for a living. Working for an advising group, who more or less shop their unhappy players around to other schools in the offseason (I’ve seen it first hand, not specifically with Hawkeye but advis...

Re: Official Coaching Openings - 2025-26
EP’s AA Peewee team went 11-33-2 last year. They got blown out of the arena against the top teams. Prior to the season, what would have been EP’s two best players—Crowley’s kid and the Sylvia kid (his dad played for Boston University)—“transferred,” with Crowley “transferring” to Tonka’s AA Peewee ...

Re: Official Coaching Openings - 2025-26
I won’t say too much here but let’s just say that EP will get 4-5 top end to good players at the Bantam and HS this coming season. At least that’s what is going around. There will be be some that leave too but it is in line with actually being a destination for transfers and move ins to my point. Ta...
