Weight Vest

Icecream's weight vest was 25 pounds. That was 50% of his body weight in high school.

Lee has all the skills

To make it to the next level. He will have to learn to be a little more physical, but I don't see that being a problem for him. The biggest question is "can he handle the pressure." He has always played hockey for fun. Now he is playing for his future and everyone has very very high expect...

Other goaltender

the other goaltender is Kunde. Both are decent, the early edge goes to Duncan. Kunde is under-rated and if he works hard during the summer you could see him a lot. But he has to work.

Re: I'd leave to.

After watching the goalie shuffle last year throughout the entire year, the playoffs, and championship game..... why would a goaltender want to play in that mess. From what I understand, the team and goaltenders didn't know who was starting the championship game until a couple hours before the drop ...

rule

The no warmup rule was put in place not so long ago. It was stupid and I don't know exactly what the purpose was. To speed the game up was one potential benefit, but I think the main thing was to keep oposing players from interacting during the warmup. Before the rule was inacted, both teams would c...

Re: Where was #2 for Moorhead

But not Concordia. The reason Cory Johnson is interested in Concordia is because they have the best D3 coach in the nation and soon to be one of the best D3 programs in the nation. Hockey would be like an intermural activity there.

Re: Where was #2 for Moorhead

I'm stepping down from the head coaching position. Icedreamer wins by unamious vote. That would get the players pumped up. I'd hate to lose the spud mascot, but im sure we could come up with something better. Maybe BSU would let us borrow.

Re: Where was #2 for Moorhead

I don't think you can rotate goalies at that point of the season. Remember we are dealing with young kids here and just my opinion, but it seemed like both goaltenders were playing to not make a mistake instead of aggressive and to make the save. I could see this throughout the season. You could jus...

Re: Where was #2 for Moorhead

Well while we're at it.... I heard the starting goaltender wasn't decided on.... or at least told to the team until 4-5pm. Well who needs to be mentally prepared for the biggest game of their lives.

Re: Cory Johnson?

Cory is a pleasure to watch game in and game out. I've heard his options for hockey after high school are farily limited, which is too bad. He is also good at football and track. I've heard he is looking division 2 for football and maybe track and also staying home to play all three in division 3. I...

Re: didn't learn your lesson on the fall of moorhead... did

Deutz and Hittle deserve credit. I can't imagine the mind games they had to play along with the real games. Both these kids are phenominal, I just don't agree with how the goaltender situation was handled.

Re: au contrare

I'm not into bashing refs, but here is the thought process that I think must be used in this process.

1. Must be absolutely 100% sure the puck was played with the high stick.
2. Must be absolutely 100% sure the stick was actually high. I believe the rule around the goal is over the net no...

Re: au contrare

No way are the refs going to stop and look at the replay on the big screen to see if it was the right call. You want to talk about controversy. I'm a Moorhead fan to the bone, but showing the replay to everyone in the building would have done no good. Between the die hard Moorhead faithful and the f...

Re: 2 and a half games were lost!

That's not the point slappy. I agree both goalies were good enough to play, but you need to pick one and go with him. I've been in the middle of a goalie and quarterback controversies and trust me it isn't good for the team until you know who your go to guy is.

And get me some info on the sc...

Replay

I believe it is almost standard that questionable calls are not replayed on the big screen at events. Especially when the person running the replays knows the call was wrong. I have tons of respect for the Moorhead fans and Moorhead students. Showing the replay on the big screen could have caused so...

Re: What a difference a year makes!

Sorry, but i have to add this. I am not trying to make excuses. AHA won fair and square with or without the blown call.
