Re: New PeeWees to watch out for
Sean Frentz, from mankato is a top mini mite. He's already being scouted by mankato state. Just ask Soup3 <p></p><i>Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... eFranch</A> at: 4/10/06 2:27 pm<br></i>

Re: Two A Teams
Hey Prez - Not saying you couldn't go "A" under such a guideline.<br> <br> A lot of D4 (SW MN area) associations only have one team period, be it PeeWee or Bantam, due to small enrollment numbers. They choose whether to go "A" or "B" based upon help from the district di...

Re: Two A Teams
I would say it makes sense to try to have <!--EZCODE BOLD START--><strong>the top 20-25% of each squirt, peewee or bantam group play at the "A" level</strong><!--EZCODE BOLD END-->. Just as a target for each district and association; you'll still have some disagreement. <p></p><i></i>

Two A Teams
In Mankato we have two "A" PW (and two "A" squirt teams also) teams due to the district we play in and the small size of several of the associations around us in D4. They are split into an A1 and A2 group. The A2 team can usually compete in disctrict 4 play at about a .500 level,...

Re: 96 machine
I think I heard they didn't lose to any <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--><em>'96</em><!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> team, so makes sense. Is Chase Phelps from Eagan a 96 machine player, and if so how is he doing? <p></p><i></i>

Re: 93s and 94s
<!--EZCODE BOLD START--><strong>The Minnesota 88's were a force</strong><!--EZCODE BOLD END-->. The same basic group of organizers is now running the Minnesota '96's, a.k.a. The 96 Machine, which went undefeated last summer. A coach mentioned this past weekend that he thought they might be the best ...

The Kids
Great job on these posts.<br><br> There is more than one kind of kid and therefore more than one way to let them enjoy hockey. We have three boys (a PWA, Squirt A and mini-mite) playing now and they basically like the games most - no future NHLers at our house - because they are "way more excit...

Silver Regional PWA
Faribault v. Buffalo is the game to watch in the first round of this regional - don't expect Faribault to play like a #3 seed. That should be a very good indicator of how strong the two Districts are. Sartell should beat New Ulm, and I'd expect Mankato and New Prague to win in the first round also. ...

Faribault PWA
I'd say Faribault has as good a chance as any team to win the Silver Region and go to state. They lost to NP in Districts, but they blew up New Ulm 8-0 after that and I think they will be ready to go. They play the best team hockey in D4 PWA. <br><br> Hard to tell how Buffalo will do against Faribau...

Roseau PWA
Roseau deserves to be ranked based on what they've done lately. Still (usually) the depth of the Cities teams shows at playoff time. It's hard to know how things will play out come regionals, so good luck to all the teams. <p></p><i></i>

PWA State
Stillwater won the Moorhead tournament, with both Blaine and Roseau competing. Roseau also looked beatable in the tournament, trailing Mankato most of the game before winning. At that tournament, at least, Bjugstad from Blaine was the best player on the ice, period. I haven't seen anybody better thi...

Mankato BA
Mankato BA's don't have the dad's to make it out of districts; all the other D4 teams have better dad's. Right Bugsy? <p></p><i></i>

D4 PWA Districts
I think you have to call Faribault the D4 PWA favorite - they outplayed both Mankato and NP head to head all season. Last year in Districts NP got surprised and I wouldn't expect that to happen two years in a row. MN Magic makes a good point about Mankato playing some very tough competition - in the...

Elite Classic
The Elite Classic tells the coaches to try to get the best players they can, and a lot of the best players do play. <br><br> From the 2003 Elite Classic South Mite Major team, just for example, there were quite a few top players - Seth Ambroz, Benny Walker, Ben Marshall (I think, maybe he was on the...
