Re: !

I have coached against some 2002 coaches that are apart of the Minnesota Made hockey program and I must say for the most part the coaches are class acts as are the parents. Recently we had two tight tournament ending games agains the Machine and all the parents were amazing towards myself and our t...

JSR...my take on it is the question is not about the usefulness or validity of the rule itself, it's that the rule is in place and a coach, now branded whiney, asked the ref if the rule was to be enforced. Sorry if I branded anyone. Not my intention. Just that I have seen 3 weekends of hockey now t...

Totally bush league behavior by your son's team's coach. This is not a League game, or playoff, but in a fun tourney giving some kids an opportunity to extend their season. I've never even heard of such a thing and certainly never seen it enforced. Again, in a tourney of this type, totally unecessa...

Just thinking out loud.....

This past weekend at the MN Made Preview Challenge Cup my child had a great game. Both teams were strong and fun to watch. During the game a player on the other team fell to the ice and laid there until the whistle stopped the play as the other team was heading up the ice, then jumped up like nothin...

You have to know what you have going into the summer. I bet that if you look at that team that is on a tear this year they did the same thing last year and the year before. How about the coaches and parents of these power house teams taking a look at what they had and what they will have (I bet the...

"Open" level tournaments have become a farce. More and more teams are bringing in "elite" (if it is possilble to use such a word to describe 8-12 year olds) caliber players in an effort to win a tournament and build credibility for their AAA programs. True Open level teams have ...

I would LOVE to see a AAA league in MN. All the good solid AAA teams play each other thru the summer and have a tourney at the end. This would eliminate the poor teams and every team would get good solid games. Cost would be lower since it would be just games (more like $10 a player for a game). If ...

Summer Tourney Ethics

Our young team was put in a tough spot during an AAA tourney this spring. We played against a team that was very weak. They were the same age as the other players but just a team put together to play summer hockey. Our team scored 8 goals in the first period and then they stopped putting the score o...

EMT or Trainer at Summer Tourneys

Do you think there should be an EMT or Trainer at the AAA tourneys in the summer? This weekend we had a player break their arm in 2 places and no where in the facility was an EMT or Trainer. I would think that at ALL tourneys including summer ones there should be someone there to helpout with injure...
