Re: When parents don't like...
Inappropriate behaviour is one reason to remove a coach. The other legitimate one that I have personally seen is when there is a noticeable impact to the youth program. If a large number of players, in particular, impact players, start to leave the program for other programs, At this point the parti...

Re: OE
Everyone needs to realize the impact that OE has on the youth programs within the communities that the OE player leaves and comes into. Over the course of time you will see fewer players starting if the parents feel that their player will never have an opportunity to play for their high school becau...

Re: chemistry
It is my understanding that the final vote of Minnesota Hockey in regards to B&A had it approved only for one year, this year. The focus is now on development of a Before option similiar to the Boys High School Elite league. At this time 3 options are going to be pitched to Minnesota Hockey at t...

Re: U13
Edina does not allow 7th and 8th graders to participate on their Varsity or JV. They also do not allow seniors to play JV as of this year. They have a U19 team that these players and any cut from varsity who have aged out of U14 can play on.

Re: Transfers = Championships
Let's remember Open Enrollment was about academics. It was not suppose to be for athletics (an extracurricular activity). I do not believe that students have an inherent right as far as athletics go. The legistlation needs to be adjusted to close this loop-hole.

Re: Transfers = Championships
That is for the short term for EP H.S. the transfers have worked out quite nicely but in the long term the damage done to Bloomington's and EP's youth program may be much greater. It just won't be as obvious right away.....just look at SSP

I was at the afternoon games and at the EP/Stillwater game and EP had the lowest number of fans of the 6 teams. I was actually disappointed in their turnout.

Re: ghshockey fan?
My daughter thought that the state tournament program pages for each team should include a number of open enrollment players on the team. Some of the teams are homegrown and some are not. Thank you Rudy Perpich!

Re: Thank-you, Mr.Cobb & Co
I disagree with all of the above about the venue not being right. I was also at all of the games yesterday and loved it and my daughter loved it. We have been going to the state tournament for several years and we talked about the comparisons.
I talked with quite a few of the players and they lo...

Re: building the base
One of the reasons Edina has a large girls program has to with the fact that they did not have a girls JV team for the first 5 years that they had a girls varsity team. When the varsity team was proposed the group prompting it reached an agreement with the athletic department to not request a JV tea...

I was at the game on Friday and I agree about it not feeling like a cavern. I particularly like the fact that there will be enough space that you won't have to be sitting on top of the bands!!!!

Re: MN Hockey approves "Before & After" U19
Unfortunately, MN Hockey has stated that the goal is for an Elite Before league of the same caliber as the boys but they are doing nothing to make that happen but instead are hoping that someone will step forward to make that happen. For right now they believe it will be these AAA coaches that will ...

Re: MN Hockey approves "Before & After" U19
I agree. It is too bad that a couple of individuals with assistance by the individual who went after the high school league were able to cow MN Hockey into approving this. I know these individuals and they are far more driven by their own egos than interested in what is best for the players and for ...
