Best player is up for debate, but hard to give it Schammel when she does play lesser competition. She is a heckuva player, but is she capable of doing what Rodgers does against the stiff competition? The two are also different players. Rodgers plays both ways and brings a more well rounded game. I b...

First of all, public school recruiting is obviously more of a challenge than private school recruiting because most of the time it will require a physical move by the family or backwards shenanigans. Therefore, most recruiting takes place with the private schools. What I wanted to bring out with thi...

Private schools should play AA and step it up!
Benilde and Hill-Murray do it! The private schools recruit very heavily and there is no excuse for them to not compete at the highest level.

I couldn't agree with you more joehockey! The bottom line is the best players have the best chance for D1 hockey! We live in a world where if you are good you are going to be seen. The USA Selects process is without question the best way to get on the radar. With that said, you can still find your w...

Let's move the Girls High School Tournament to Ridder
Hockey21 The Xcel Center is a great venue for hockey when it is filled with 18,000 fans, not when it is an oversized rink with nobody there cheering. Have you ever skated on the ice? It is no better than any other rink....come on. The experience is what it is all about and if you don't think Edina v...

Let's Move the Girls High School Tournament to Ridder
I'd like to start the discussion on moving the Girls High School Tournament away from the Xcel Center and bring it to Ridder Arena. Ridder Arena is one of the premier hockey venues in the country and it was built for one the best women's hockey programs in the country. The arena has been a great pla...

Varsity hockey in 7th and 8th grade???? Seriously? I see NO advantage for a girl in a top association like Edina, Minnetonka, EP or many others to leave their association for Varsity hockey. What a waste. Nevertheless, who am I to say it is wrong. I don't understand it. If your daughter is that good...

Centennialhockey, what does having two A teams have to do with developing a larger pool of girls???? Are you saying that if a girl makes a B team she is NOT going to develop into a good player?

D10 really thinks highly of themselves...Blaine, Centennial and ER all will contend IN D10. Statewide, I don't see it. I think the top 2 are OMG and Edina and after that a D10 team could get in there with a hot goalie, but top to bottom it's OMG and Edina. Goaltending will be the question in Edina a...

Why would a girl from an association like Edina, EP, Centennial, Wayzata etc... choose boys over girls? It really doesn't make sense unless of course she is so good that she is going to make an A boys team. A girl playing "no checking" peewee B hockey instead of A doesn't quite add up espe...

Ol' Black Tape you are really showing your insecurities. I just asked for your take on the Edina game. I don't remember saying anything about Edina fans complaining. In fact, one of the accounts of the game I heard was from an Elk River resident. OMG!!!!!! Good luck in Districts. I think with all yo...

Centennial takes down undefeated Chaska! Looks like they are the real deal-8 players or not. Duluth is shaping up to look like a great preview for the State Tournament.

Black tape, I'm curious if the Edina game is really legit and something to be taking credit for??? I have heard a couple different stories about this game and would love your take. I also see that you play them in Duluth in the first round. I sure hope they don't get a hold of your bulletin board ma...

Wayzata has clearly proven it is the team to beat at this point in the season. I think they are undefeated and winning the Cake Eaters confirms there #1 ranking. Woodbury would be a team that creates some interest, but until they step up and play some of the elite teams I don't think they can be con...

98 and 2000 Machine tryouts
Ahhhhhhhhhhh, M****? How do they say this in computer talk? LMFAO! 2000 Machine will be best team in 2000 age group. There is really no more to talk about. I watched them play this summer against girls a year older and they were in every game. Beat Ice Cougars and lost to the 99 Blades 2-0. If they ...
