WHos done the most with what they've got?

I'd say Minnetonka's coach is at the top of the list. His youth association has to be given a ton of credit, for two reasons. 1- development in the bantam level and teaching fundamentals, skills progression and team building. 2- keeping the kids together and letting them get snared in by the claws o...

talk talk talk

It really doesn't matter either way. All the play talk has to get done in the section tournaments and then at the big show. All these guys that do the rankings or cry about the rankings. Come on guys, WHO CARES? Seriously, if your team is really good, then they'll make it out of their section (no ma...

I guess the people of a program that has little or no experience, is able to make better decsions. It just makes sense to have someone with experience. Goldy, maybe you'd be the right guy. You seem to know a lot about the game or at least it sounds as though u do. I'm still an outsider lookin in. Ju...

Good luck to RL

Wow, another program that has no clue, apparently. As I remember from some of his former players that played for him, Larson was well liked. By even the ones that didn't go Div I. Thats from the players, of course and not the parents. But most of them liked him too. As far as the negatives.....I'd s...

Hers to good experiences

Hey now B&G, Its HS hockey, just hope its the parents that have the good experience. They could find a reason real quick, to make life miserable for the two new guys. I heard thats all that matters for those two programs anyways. Just got back to school and have been getting caught up with all t...

Just curious cause I don't know. Was the previous coach a teacher at either school? Love4hockey are you a teacher as well? Just asking cause you seem to know a lot about the process and you said in another post that you knew one of the previuos coaches well, (not sure if it was in this post). Just a...

Prayers go out to you

Nobody ever wishes things like this to happen. But the strength of a community and the caring of close friends, mixed with prayers from all, can really make a difference in an individual's will. Keep fighting Michael and God bless!

Any new news

I've had my face in a book the last week. Anything new on the St. Cloud coaching jobs? I have just read the updates on here. Has any of these names really applied? Or how can anyone even find this out? I know some of the former players have been talking about applying but they don't feel that they h...

forgot

last post then I'm hitting the books. Stupid summer school! Don't the schools hire the coach? I know my old high school coach was hired by the school and wasn't a teacher. Owns his business and hi assitants were teachers. I would think the schools have the final say, unless I'm wrong. It is a school...

Has anyone even found out of Howe is still playing? Its looked as though he was still playing in the East coast. Hope I'm not mistaken. I'm a Gopher fan, so I follow up on their careers.

sweet storys

back from a nice break of fishin. Looks like its been somewhat active. Heard they posted both jobs now, its official. So who are the big names for the Apollo job? Which assistants are interested? Thought they were all gone. I would guess Larson will probably apply, though he doesn't seen so well tho...

sweet

That would be cool. Two Huskies taking the helm. Did Hartman play for Larson or is that before he was there? Have either Clafton or Hartman coached before? Would be a sweet new start for new coaches. Only problem is, the expectation might be to high for them early. Might be fun to see though until t...

got it

You're right Westy. Just forming opinions too. I've heard good things about the Tiger young kids though. Are they pretty good? Not sure I have the experience that some of those guys have. I've only been out of the game a short time. Thanks for the reminder though. Any rumors on who is interested? So...

Tigger

Thats not it at all. I personally wouldn't know the guy if I ran into him. Its just that if his former players respected him as a coach, whether they won or not, than why not have him back? Isn't it more about what the players think anyway? Not the parents, I hope. Honestly I could really care less....

Thats cool

I remember watching Grant at SCSU. Pationate guy and tough kid. Has he ever coached though? He was from Grand Rapids to, I think. He might be a good assistant for a year or two but with the parents there, he would need a bit more experience. From what I gather and the games i went to, they're a pret...

Curious though

Where I played hockey, in the cities, we had guys leave too. They couldn't do without developing at the high school level. So "Goldy", how did those guys ever make it to the next level, miss high school all together? I know at my school, guys left for their senior year, but never would've ...

Who Knows

Love4Hockey, not sure what you've heard or where you've heard them. I played intramurals at SCSU with guys that have played for him and they all thought he was a good coach. He was good to them. Course, they were good players too. I don't know him, so don't judge. these guys parents apparrently like...

Love it

how about 4 the kids. I love it when parents, no matter what StCloud school, get on here and bash coaches. What, with their vast know ledge of how tho play the game and all and certainly how to coach the game. Not quite sure who they could get to come in and coach inthis town. If its a former Youth ...
