How would you handle this situation...... Player lives in association X, played Bantam A last year with Association last year, and is a 2nd year Bantam. Player enrolled in new school outside of association X, and has registered with association Y per the new participation rule. According to the new ...

Can you give an example of a request that was granted and requests that were denied? I'm just curious about why a family would get a waiver vs a family that was denied. - 6 year old 1st year player and 9 year old girl. Family lives in our district, open enrolls to neighboring district. Waiver denie...

Hopkins too is very strict with their waiver policy. This is one of our neighboring associations. All of the affiliates in our district follow a uniform policy set forth by District 3, its policies, and the interpretation of community hockey concept supported by Minnesota Hockey. None of which allo...

Why is following a rule a cop out? Of course their are exceptions, we make them all the time. Like last year Upon registering for his 6th year of hockey (last year of Bantams) this players address was finally "double checked by the new registrar". Our board decided it was not in the best i...

Its the principle of a rule and sticking to it. I certainly understand your viewpoint HockeyDad41, but understand if we waived out everyone that asked, how can we work on improving product with less and less players. What is good for the Goose is good for the Gander. If our neighboring associations ...

I am pretty sure that one of the small group of parents who approached MH originated in our association. I sit on the board and heard their family request request for waivers to play in a neighboring association and I voted to decline it (reasons below). It was escalatd to our district and it too wa...

My dad told me this as I was pondering my son's 10 yr old Squirt goalie tryouts this year. He looked at me sternly and said "Son, no matter what team he makes this year just remember this, he is 9 years away from free hockey for the rest of his life."

I completely disagree with the proposed policy. My interpretation of the MN Hockey survey results are that members find this to be a pressing issue because of the lack of enforcement of the existing policies. I don't believe that a majority of MN Hockey members felt that the existing policy was too...

Sue Nelson, she is the organist for the Twins and used to work for the North Stars. Her music was NOT annoying it made the event even more special then it was.

The two Edina squirt A teams did not go well. They were unbalanced. The Green team went 35-3-1. The White team went 4-25-2 overall. If the only measurement of a successful season is wins/losses then no way will the concept of two "A" teams work. That has been Wayzata's argument for a numb...

That even makes their decision worse by not having "2" A teams today. They know they will lose top top talent (as do other associations/high schools) yet they forgo the opportunity to develop a greater number at the top when their numbers/skill could accommodate. To answer a previous poste...

By the looks of their records, it appears the kid's from WYHA and other associations would benefit if they added a 2nd A team.... Doing something like that would require some strategy, insight, and a focus on development for their top end talent. From what Ive seen at most of their B levels its all...
