I think this is the year for STA to run the table after two years of section disappointment. 5-2 STA MAHT fina.

Outcomes as expected:

Wayzata with too much depth for BSM. First line was strong for Trojans tonight. Heard the trojans looked great and their goalie looked strong.
Tonka on schedule with its usual end of season underperformance (2-4-1) which began this year with first EP game.

Last years team ran into HM in the semi-finals at State. That game went into 4OTs when they did win; however, they had to play a tough Edina team later that night for the title. If Tonka didn't play so late and had more time to recuperate; the 2010 Tonka team wouldn't be in this discussion (IMO). T...

Re: 07 stars

AHA 2006, excellent team with Barriball, Hurley and Matson running the first line. how about AHA 2007... undefeated going into the section final and losing to burnsville... Burnsville is one of those teams that ususally underperforms the front half of the season and overperforms the back half... th...

Tonka has had a few teams that imho fell short. The 1985 squad that lost in 4 OTs to Jefferson, the 1986 team that lost in the Section 6 Finals and a few others that could not make it to state (exact years escape me) stand out along with the 2010 team. Curse of playing in a difficult section year a...

I wouldn't go as far as to say he is dead wrong, but he is doing what is quite fun, it's called "lying with statistics." I do it often in analysis if one team's home record against a team is good but the overall record isn't, for example. You can do it easily with game stats to support wh...

Re: +/-

Ok, if +/- is not a good indicator, then let's check out the +/- stats of other players in the metro area, by looking at the top 3 players for the following teams: Hill, BSM, Edina, EP & Wayzata. At least one of then should be on the negative side, right? Hill-Murray Bahe +4 Becker +3 Guentzel ...

Re: Frawley

Frawley has had little to no effect this season . In his last 4 games his stats per the Hub are: vs. Roseau - 0 points and even vs. BSM - 1 assist and a -2 vs. Stilly - 1 assist and a -2 vs. Blaine - 2 assists and even Total of 4 assists and is -4 in the 4 games. What game are you watchin' NikeBaue...

I like St. Thomas by a goal in this one. I think the Cretin win was a good one as was the Marshall win. Other competiton was very weak. The only game I have seen this season was the Tonka game on our STA home ice. Tommies have a more experienced line up than Tonka back at D-core. I give STA the adva...

Not sure what the cause is but according to the MNHUB Tonka has been taking a lot of very stupid penalties since the season began. It is possible they have the talent to play with the top teams in the state but not if they continue to populate the box the way they have lately. Could be related to th...

Ken Pauley is pretty tough on his home ice. My money is on Benilde... 6-3. Tonka slight edge on offense, Benilde advantage on D and goalies a draw.

mngopherfan, Just a suggestion, but the tactful way to post inside information of that sort is to say "I was informed that it was a coaching decision." Then tell us that no apparent team or league rules were violated and assure us that he's not injured. There's no need to despoil a young ...
