good luck
Good luck with that the Sioux have lost more than the gophers have and a lot of leaders key players in Smaby, Stafford, Zajac, and Spirko. The Gophers have as good a chance as any team and if they get Kangas to come early they'll be in good shape.

goalie
I also heard that the third string goalie Solei is quiting the team as well just heresay but probablydoesn't want to put up with being third and never having a chance to play. It would be nice to see Kangas come next year he is very good and the Gophers could really use him.

Re: Gophers
From everything I have heard from his cousin he is known as the best in the nation for his age and 7th in the world for his age he has been anonymous due to the fact that he hasn't played in Minnesota since he was a third year A bantam for North St. Paul in 8th grade, left to play for the Little Cea...

Gophers
Watch for Jim O'brien to be one of those players who is able to throw his weight around and mix it upwhen neccesary, maybe not so much Carmen though he seems like he would be more a Kessel style player.

Re: Gophers Next Year
Probably not Chucko getting an A considering he is gone now signing with Calgary. To be honest coming from a Gopher fan he never really stood out, maybe that he had pretty high expectations coming in but he didn't do much this year.

Re: 2006-2007 WCHA Predictions
I'm pretty excited to see the freshmen class coming to Minnesota next year, one of the best in recent years I'd say, I think Erik Johnson will be one of the best D in the conference as a freshman and look for Jim O'Brien to make a rather large impact.

Half way decent
I am in no way agreeing with the statement that Wisconsin is the new state ofhockey I think that is an absolutley ridiculous claim made by a bunch of egotistical cheeseheads that haven't had anything else to cheer for this year.

But my point being that Robbie Earl wasn't the only half way dec...

Next Year
Hopefully if it is only seniors leaving this year, then they get Hirsch and Hagemo back, with the strong recruiting class coming in next year I think they may have it, but you never know they should have been good enough this year.

Yes we can, once they lose to BC and then again next year when they aren't the Sioux anymore.

The Ralph
I made the trip there last weekend only to be disappointed it was a little annoying having every Sioux fan cheering for Holy Cross so they wouldn't have to face the Gopher's.

But as for the Ralph, it was my first time there and I had heard these amazing things about it, and to be honest it is...

So you think Matt Carle would be a good choice because his team made it to the Tournament? or wait they didn't I forgot about that, and they weren't even in the Final Five? really?<!--EZCO...

Re: Potulny will win
RochesterPucks, your points do not make any sense as to why Potulny will not win it.

Yes the McNaughton Cup is regular season, as well as the Hobey Baker is REGULAR SEASON statistics, if the playoffs were a factor then Carle would definetiley not still be up for consideration but from everyt...

Potulny will win
RochesterPucks I'm not positive but I don't think your vote counts nor is it taken into consideration.

Potulny will win one game isn't going to erase what he has helped the Gopher's accomplish, McNaughton Cup sound familiar? a few bad games can't discredit his amazing season. Who won the McNaughton Cup?
just wondering.

I forgot because that symbolizes an entire season of good hockey as opposed to 2 days of good hockey.

and Minnesota's freshmen class is not overrated they just aren't as dependant on their freshmen as UND (who dress 10 freshmen) or UMD (wh...

So they did make it in, but how can you say they have the toughest arena for visiting teams to play in? I'm pretty sure the gophers did sweep them on their home ice this season. and you can say all you want about the rough weekend the gopher's had but they always seem to struggle in the Final Five f...
