Mankato and Faribault on same side of bracket...revenge?

So Mankato Purple and Faribault are on the same side of the bracket as each other at the PWA level...Can Mankato Purple avenge two 2-1 losses in the regular season against Faribault, assuming they both win their first round games? Should be a somewhat D4 dominated tourney with Kato, NP, and Fari. in it...If Buffalo has beaten Sartell, and Kato has beaten Buffalo, two D4 teams should meet in the Championship, but that would be on paper. Anything can happen, especially at this age level.Any info on Sartell or Buffalo PWA anyone?

Yes it would've been a good rematch...but it is also always good to have some new teams face each other as well. All, in all it will be two good tourneys. Bantam A the favorites have to be Buffalo or New Prague I believe?

Should be pretty competitive...I'm thinking for PWA, 3 of 4 winners will be from D4, with Sartell taking New Ulm out. They should all be good games, and if someone doesn't come to play, they'll be crushed.

How do you guys think fari will do in Regions this year

Faribault PWA

I'd say Faribault has as good a chance as any team to win the Silver Region and go to state. They lost to NP in Districts, but they blew up New Ulm 8-0 after that and I think they will be ready to go. They play the best team hockey in D4 PWA.

Hard to tell how Buffalo will do against Faribault in the first round, but since Buffalo already lost to Mankato (6-5) and Faribault beat Mankato twice this year, I like Faribaults chances there.

Sartell is the team to beat.

Buffalo may have lost to Mankato but if you watched the game it was pretty clear which was the better team.....shots were 39-23 in Buffalo's favor. Buffalo has two goalies and one is much more experienced than the other....both played against Mankato and it made a huge difference.

I doubt it...The shots on goal were much closer than that, as every time a shot was taken for Buffalo it was added on the board. We will justh ave to see how this thing plays out. I'm taking Faribault over Buffalo 5-2. BTW, Mankato was down 3 players for their game against Buffalo, oneo f them their Captin Drew Weber, and they still beat Buffalo 6-5.

Wow....you're suggesting the shots were inacurate? I take it you were there! I was. Buffalo was missing two of it's better players also. Buffalo would win 8 out of 10 times they played.

well if buffalo lost to mankato without drew playing thats quite an accomplishment for kato. im not saying drew is the whole team but he is the anchor. if drew was there look for the score not to be as close.

I am the souperstar.

Yes, on most teams the captin is the anchor of the team. I think the biggest thing for Mankato Purple in this region is they have to move the puck and be as physical as they were in districts. They have to play SMART HOCKEY...

BTW, Why isn't Dreamer replying?<img src=

Ah....that explains it all. Not only a Mankato homer but a kid!

Yes, one of the kids is out for a few more weeks...of course, we're hoping he'll be back in time for the state tournament!

I'll cut the harshness, but honestly......everyone from Buffalo (and we're homers like everyone else) thought that we were much better than Mankato....knowing our goalie situation (check our web-site for the stats on goalies)......and I understand that you feel it went the other way...that's hockey.

Good luck against Crow River. They are ok.....but honestly...I was surprised they made it out of districts!
