There's a lot of parity this season and I like it! This is the best the ECAC has looked in a long time, and that's without Cornell being any good. Usual Hockey East heavyweights Boston University and Maine are within striking distance. Dartmouth has been in the top 15 for weeks, but have recently fallen out. Realistically the top 20 have a chance without winning their conference tournament. It's bad news bears for the rest.

I believe even if the Gophs sweep the rest of the regular season, their Pairwise will fall. Not a good sign.

2. North Dakota -- Have clinched the WCHA championship. Will play Tech 4 (possibly 5) games in a row.
3. Boston College
4. Michigan -- CCHA leader
5. Denver
6. Union -- ECAC leader
7. Merrimack
8. Nebraska-Omaha
9. Notre Dame
10. Miami
11. Minnesota-Duluth -- They better be careful.
12. New Hampshire -- Hockey East leader
13. Rensselaer
14. Colorado College -- With a series win and a win at the final five, they're probably golden.

UMD is screwed. With no apparent goaltending, defense and little scoring outside their first line, this team could very easily lose in the first round of the WCHA playoffs and be on the outside looking in when the Pairwise is finalized prior to the NCAA selection.

If UMD loses in the first round of the WCHA, it is possible; however, if they win the first round, it will likely secure them a spot in the NCAA Tourney.

Rensselaer was sitting pretty coming into the conference tournament, now they're finished in the blink of an eye. RPI's defeat is fantastic news for Colorado College though, who're now in the top 15.

3 - Minnesota-Duluth, Western Michigan, Notre Dame, Nebraska-Omaha

UND and Denver in same regional is a joke. Just another case of the comittee not wanting multiple WCHA teams to advance.

Why are Michigan (#5) and Miami (#4) not in the same regional bracket?

If you go by seeds the 4 seed should play the 5 seed in the Quarterfinals.
