From what I heard 1 goalie from the B1 is transferring out. That would leave 1 on the B1 and 1 on the B2. One of the Board members could confirm this as he is the one recruiting these players.

Keep up the good work? Maybe I am being too critical, but I don't think anyone is too worried when they see the Cardinals on the schedule. Besides not being able to field competitive teams with any consistency, it sounds like they lose talent to neighboring programs regularly as well.

So true - I got my last son out of the mess this year and hope he can now have fun at the high school level instead

low #'s have alot to do with it. also, with the HS program in the shape it has been for 3-4 years, kids seem to be leaving at the bantam level to set themselves up for HS. Hopefully, the new HS coach can stick around for awhile and build it back up.

I didn't say I took my kid out of CR - I just got him out of the youth program which is where all this stuff starts.

What do you mean you took him out of the youth program? If, he is still playing hockey within YOU don't make that decision just to take him OUT of the program, unless he is a sophomore and is bantam eligible then I can see him leaving the youth moving onto High School. Since when is it good for a program to keep losing numbers?

I think Associations are feeling numbers are down due to the economy and expense. Coon Rapids is really trying hard to build it back up at the beginners age. The last 2 years have been pretty bad and I know the bashing I will take for saying this, but most of it is due to the coaching at the Bantam level up to the High School level. Parents feel there child deserves more in coaching than what they have to offer. If, by chance you watched the "A" Bantam team and the High School play last year there were alot of comparisons to each other which did not advance the players to a higher level of play. No systems (power play, short handed, breakout etc.) all the HS coach did was roll the lines and that included when they were on the power play. No power play unit at all. To me you put your best 5 players out there no matter if all 5 are forwards or defense. I know 1 parent that made it a habit to watch there practices and games which did make the decision for him to transfer out of CR

You are right about the trickle down affect and I don't think it's over yet.
RUMORS are already spreading if it doesn't improve this year look for 1 or 2 more to leave

Juiceman....Any updates on the goalie situation? New trimester starts in a few days look for the goalie to start his High School career somewhere else. Wouldn't be surprised to see his name appear on that High Schools team roster as it appears now there are only 2 goalies listed

one goalie on each team as far I know

If, in fact, these are the circumstances I hope the goalies on each team will be healthy throughout the season to be successful at their level

I am pretty sure the problem is the name of the town. Have you considered changing the name to Racoon River or Rippling Rapids, or some such?

Hey loveitorleaveit......I am a little confused here please help me understand your situation. Here on this thread you stated your last son was playing at the High School level, but on the most recent Youth forum thread "News out of Dist. 10" you stated having 2 children playing??
Did I miss something? Also, appears to me you are a Coon Rapids parent correct?

I have 4 children from two different Mothers
between the 3 of our addresses we cover 3 different programs
