Elk River lost close games to Eden Prairie (3-0) and Edina (6-3) before beating Grand Rapids (3-2) on Saturday.

Since when is losing by 3 considered close games?

It was 4-3 until under three minutes were left in the game. Sometimes you have to look beyond the score and study what actually happened.

Your right Lee. There are close games score wise, and there are close games play wise. For example, Tonka beat Blaine last night 4-3. A close score, but if you saw the game, Tonka dominated and the shots reflected it (33-12). So, were both of these ER 3 goal loss games close in play? I don't know, because I wasn't there. It just struck me as an add comment given that they lost two games by 3 goals and they were termed "close".

I think karl has much better analysis and doesn't just go by point totals. There's much more to a game than who scores the goals although I agree Mtka is finally in their rightful spot!
