Pete Fichuk, pound for pound the toughest hockey player of all time.
I was a little bit acquainted with Fichuk. In 1974, I ran a Clark gas station in Excelsior. At the time, I didn't know he'd played for the Falls under Larry Ross. Except for the tournament, I also wasn't following high school hockey. Pete was a regular customer who sold cars for Downtown Chevrolet.
One morning he stopped in and asked if I wanted to sell my '70 Chev. Caprice. Well, I'd found a '72 Caprice I liked, so I met Pete at the dealer on a rainy afternoon and we exchanged the money in the car and that was that. I wonder if he's still around.
From your user, looks like you were a 1970 grad yourself.

Comes to the Falls once in a while.

No, the 70 was my age when I joined the board.

I didn’t see the pic but a Maht player won the Herb Brooks award.
I think ESPG is talking about Eveleth Trophy they give from the 1st State Title to teams now along with the Championship hardware
I'm not familiar with that. What exactly is it? How long has this been a thing? Is it a traveling trophy? There must be one for both A and AA then?

I watched the replay of the winning goal of the A championship game. Rather than blocking the shot with his stick I bet Slukynsky wishes he would've gloved it instead. Went right to the Zephyr guy and it turned into a pretty game winning goal.
As far as an undefeated (1 tie) season, myself and I'm sure lots of you on here have seen this scenario in other sports; team has a fantastic record in the regular season and loses either early on post season or the championship game. 1998 Vikings,(we all know about that one) Seattle Mariners 116 game winning regular season , first round done are just a couple of examples that come to mind.

On the other hand, Lakeville North going 31-0 in 2014-15.
