I'm a hatter, I refrence there program alot. You should reference a dictionary. If you look at my posts, you would see that I started asking a question about their program. After the question was, somewhat answered, I received private messages from a few people that seemed to know what they are talking about. I have coached at many different levels and some of the things I've heard have been borderline shocking. My interactions with MM have been minimal but left lasting impressions. I don't to this point have a child. When I do I will consult HD41 on what to do with him/her. by that time he will probably have a far different view.am that gd wrote:enjoy the show am just wondering how you know so much about mm why i ask is alot of your post are in refrence to there program do you have a child there or are you a hatter.

Don't forget:We all lead boring little lives that we get such amusement out of one ignorant but egocentric, know-it-all hockey dad with a 6'3" 6 year old. You really can't make this stuff up! Welcome to the board "am that gd"

Why the secrecy?
If so many people know what happened "in the 99 Machine locker room after the Subway Championship", why has no one just come out and said what happened? Why all of the secrecy? As a casual observer to this whole discussion, I'd like to know.[/quote]

As far as consulting me, all I would say is find out for yourself what MM is all about. If you're one of those people who think your kid is going to end up playing D1 or in the NHL then what ever organization you find yourself with will probably frustrate you. If you just want your kid to get good training and have fun then MM is a decent place to get it.

Maybe it was a creepy guy in the locker room who doesn't even have kids yet just trying to "EnjoyTheShow."

Ever think the "secrecy" is because no one knows what you are talking about? Curtains at the rink keep kids from focusing on their dads watching and let the coaches coach. The kids come out of locker rooms smiling and love the teams they are on. The nonsense that is spewed on this forum about MM is mind boggling. The kids at MM are getting better and they are having fun. Just ask some of them.

Just ask the 96 and 97 Machine kids if they...Oh wait a minute, they left and went somewhere else. Better hurry up and ask a 99 kid before that team dissolves also.lefty76 wrote:Ever think the "secrecy" is because no one knows what you are talking about? I hope you got the curtains on videotape or HD41 won't believe you.lefty76 wrote:Ever think the "secrecy" is because no one knows what you are talking about? The kids come out of locker rooms smiling and love the teams they are on. My statement stands: Ask the kids. I see happy kids and happy families at MM. I see kids improving in hockey skills and learning something about character. Of course it is impossible to make everyone happy, but the program just continues to grow every year so there must be more pleased with the development than not. Trashing BM and the program at MM doesn't change what is happening there. The future of Minnesota hockey will be stronger and better in future years simply because of the great amount of skaters getting quality development there. I look forward to see these passionate athletes tearing up the state tournament someday.

Don't waste your energy trying to convince the haters that anything good could possibly go on at MM. Just be content to watch your child work very hard and become the best skater they can be. Be content to make new friends with other parents who see the value in the quality of instruction their child is receiving.
My son has made a bunch of new friends, been invited to birthday parties and sleep-over’s, and is part of a team of kids who like each other and like to play hockey together. He looks forward to going to practices and games and enjoys the hard work. His team has won and lost their fair share of games and I have never once witnessed the coaches acting in a way that would embarrass themselves or the children.
The parents in the stands have (with one exception) been very classy. I have not heard even one of them ever mention anything like what I have read here. I have never seen curtains on the windows or knee bends during games. I have seen the coaches discipline the kids at practice but it is very mild and is more of an attention getter.
The vast majority of people represented at MM are reasonable people who know that their child will not be playing in the NHL someday. Are there those that happen to have kids with enough talent to make elite AAA teams? Certainly, but I suspect it is the parents who want to believe the hype about their child skating D1 or NHL that are ultimately offended and lay blame anywhere but on themselves when it doesn’t quite work out the way they had hoped.
We have had an excellent experience at MM and are looking forward to continuing to have our son involved with the many incredible opportunities they have to offer. Like any responsible parent, we will continue to monitor the experience and make sure it continues to be a good fit.
So keep up the “Orange Kool Aid” comments, but make a lot of it because with over 400 families involved at MM and still growing, we’ll be pretty thirsty.

Only the few get to taste the Orange coolaid.(that is where the rules change)... The rest of you pay for it and it sounds like you are getting your money's worth. At least it sounds like you are not driving your kid to make the Machine and are accepting his abilities. There will be plenty of teams for the 400+ families to play at the lower levels which again is not a bad thing. Enjoy the sleep overs and birthday parties and your son will grow up to have a good life.HockeyDad41 wrote:Don't waste your energy trying to convince the haters that anything good could possibly go on at MM.
