Although, I could just be getting defensive and touchy about it. The last thing I want is to have the school, that I'm so proud of, be given a bad name.

So perhaps you're right Rink.
Yeah well I first heard it from some of the boys as going to the ER... which after talking to the player in question, thats absolutely not the case. So, at this point... I'm not even sure some of his teammates know what happened. Either way, it is unfortunate, and should not have occurred, but as mentioned earlier "boys will be boys"

Also, I am a proud white bear native. And as a friend to many of the players, I want nothing more than to see them succeed and have fun. While it was a horrible decision for the veterans to make... I hope they can overcome it (maybe w/o a particular coach) and move on. And knock on wood.. beat the pioneers?
-knock knock-

My sources say Glasgow scores for the bears making it 7-1.
Good for him. Hopefully they can make a show of the Roseville game this saturday. How are the raiders this year? Do we have a shot... I mean, under these conditions?

haha it's definitely needed.

I honestly thought they were gonna do alright, the first 10 minutes had WBL leading in shots 8-3 or something. Then Woodbury scored and it was all downhill from there.

Even with the Bears current roster I think they have a chance against Roseville.

Great, and even better because I will get to see them first hand this time! I still believe in the bears :D

What happened to the scoring machine in the 3rd?
Did WBY try to show a little class and lay off the scoring?

I had left, but according to my sources WBL won the third. Don't know if it's true, but I'll stay optimistic! :D

EDIT: This could have been on account of WBY keeping their top lines on the bench? I didn't see much of Gaede tonight.

Well either way, i would hope that they layed back. much unlike the Stilwater team who already knew they had their game in the bag and decided to run up the score to the tune of 13 to 1 against Eastridge. I uess they are just not used to dominating a game like that and didnt know what to do.

I don't think you could say White Bear won the 3rd as much as they got a fluky goal. Once again, the student section was amazingly rude.....applauding and jeering while the Woodbury player was on the ice and chanting "We Love Ryan" again as the Woodbury player he had jsut checked from behind was laying on the ice. I get it....they're just kids, but come on.....

Final Score Woodbury 7 WBL 1

You should have a chat with the rest of your student section then. Some White Bear kid brought vagisil over to the Woodbury student section trying to stir things up and your student section was cheering and taunting while Jonathan Gehrt was down on the ice after being checked from behind. From what I saw tonight, the bad rep is deserved.

Woodbury's fourth line was seeing the ice the entire third period.

really? East Ridge is battling a little problem of thier own, maybe a butt kicking like this will make them think next time before they do something stupid. Same goes for WBL, how about holding your little tradition before the next CDH game when it's not 20 below outside.

Sorry, Eastridge doesnt have the name Woodbury in it. As far as im concerned, they are just another competitor now. I would hope in the future that there high schools would combine to one again like White Bear did. But we both know that will never happen.

Time to lock this one up, games over, discussions have been made. It's been cluttered now with un-related posts. (although I'm guilty of that).

How many WBL kids got checked from behind and broke their back this season? Correct me if i am wrong but i believe none. Woodbury already lost one player to a check from behind. Sorry if woodbury parents and fans are a little sensitive to blatant, illegal checks that can paralyze.

It's just ironic that your signature is, "We keep it classy" but yet your student section still pulls crap like this. It's not like this is the first time either. Last year another White Bear student came over and groped a girl in Woodbury's student section and then tried starting a fight in the parking lot.

I am sure that many of these players were caught up in the moment during this unfortunate event, and would only hope that some type of lesson may have been learned.

Unfortunately, I was sitting very close to the WBL players who were suspended this evening. I found them to be very classless throughout the game and question whether any lesson was learned or not. While WBY had a player down on the ice for a considerable amount of time they laughed and were encouraging their student across the ice to continue their poor sportsmanship. In addition, they turned to some of the WBY fans during the game and made some rude comments about WBY. While on the way out, at the end of the game, one of their suspended players also asked one of the female fans if she needs Vagisil. I'm sorry, but this is not the behavior of a group of players who have been disciplined and who are trying to redeem themselves. I would think they would've sat this evening and had somewhat of a humble attitude, none of which I witnessed. Instead I saw an arrogance about them. How unfortunate for the community.

I have heard rumors that up to 5 of East Ridge's players have been suspended. I do not know the reasoning for this though. I heard it had to do with vandalism of property, but honestly only heard this from a students at ER and do not know the facts, or even if it is true.
