Thats not true. Jacob Meyers who stood on his head to beat Edina, Shattuck, and Tonka last year will be a junior.

haha ya Shibrowski is a senior and he wasn't overlooked. He had been their top goalie for a while, but over the last couple years he hadn't played well in big games. Meyers was the hot goalie at the end of the year last year and he played in almost all of their big games during the year. The wierd thing is that Shibrowski WAS all-state honorable mention last year (due to his 10-0 record and low GAA- against the many of the weakest teams on thier schedule) and he was also featured in some newspapers this year as one of the top goalies in the Metro... however he isn't even their 1st string goalie. I'm glad the writers are so informed on their topics of "expertise"....

by the end of the year Benilde will be tough to beat. Lots of young talent that will get better and better. They lack depth at defense with only 4 goo d defenseman. Meyers will keep them in all the big games. They need to stay out of the penalty box. Glynn,Patterson and Nelson will give them just enough punch of front to stay in most games and by the end the of the season the young players will start scoring. Will lose 8-10 games this year but no team will want them in sections.

Glynn and Nelson are HUGE, those are some solid boys there. I could see them take over a few games by the end of the year.
Patterson needs to get ahold of his emotions, he looked like a big baby Sat night. If you want to give out hacks plan on taking a few yourself.

I just saw the Benilde vs Cretin game and Benilde dominated from start to end. Cretin dint not show much offense in the game. Young players such as Christian Horn, Jake Horton ,Sam Anderson, Pat Steinhauser, and Patrick Daly all looked really good. The team as a whole still lacks offense but play a strong defensive game. Looks like they are building for the next couple years.

Horn, Anderson and Steinhauser all played their youth hockey at Armstrong, as did Pat Borer. Mike Morin from Breck is also an Armstrong youth hockey "grad".

cretin may have had more shots on goal but not many scoring chances. Lots of dump ins that were on net. Meyers had a pretty easy night. CDH score with 30 seconds left to make the scorelook closer.

Benilde has a lot of young talent this year and i would definitely not put them out for contention for the section championship. The team may not be playing all that well to start but there is no doubt that Pauley can pull this team together and be one of the top contenders in state this year.

Goose19. CDH DID NOT dominate that game. They came out flat and looked tired in the first period. Second period was much different. Cretin came out on fire and put a lot of pressure on BSM but Meyers was up to the test and shut the door on them. After the first 6 minutes of the second period Cretin cooled off and BSM was the better club the rest of the game. The refs called 7 penalties on Benilde compared to 2 penalties for Cretin which was a complete joke. Cretin's last goal was scored in the last two minutes with a five on three advantage. BSM is inexperinced at the varsity level with a large part of their roster because they graduated 13 players from last year. They are strong in the net though with Meyers who is a stud. BSM will learn from their losses this year and come late February I wouldn't want to be the team that draws them in the 6AA play-offs.

Meyers has proven his name in the game against CDH making big saves on the PK. Pat duda is having a strong start, along with co-captain bryan glyn(?), defense is young and will struggle earlier but it is a very skilled group that will just improve everygame. Young team, going to be solid come section playoffs. One player that really caught my eye the game against CDH was Patterson, (even though he isn't the hardest worker) he has a pair of the softest hands i have ever seen. i skate with him a lot in the summer and selects and he can make some incredible plays, last year his skills were there but he just wasn't strong enough for the game. He looks a lot thicker this year, patterson and meyers should carry this squad come sections
