I'm fine, I think the guy to worry about is Omar Minaya. A) He wants Santana B) NY will crusify him if he can't finish the deal, this would be like mom or dad taking away Christmas presents after you open them.

There is a Candle Vigil in DR. That is why there was a 2 hour extension.

KFAN reported it was the TWINS that granted the Mets 2 more hours.
What the boof? Did we get cash for that extension? Another player? Why would we do that? What was the 72 hours for?

He's gone. When they wanted a 2 hr extension that shows they are close to something. Say goodbye to Johan and hello to Gomez.

They found a translator to tell the Twins what they got in return. They found it in an outhouse. And it wasn't in the form of a human.

T - 20 until the next extension...
MLB.com Reports
NEW YORK -- The Mets and the agents representing Johan Santana were close enough to an agreement on a contract as the 5 p.m. ET deadline approached Friday that they requested and were granted a two-hour extension by the league office. A person familiar with the decision confirmed as much at 5:25 p.m.
But some 20 minutes later, a person with contacts in the office of Santana's agent, Peter Greenberg, said, "It's not done by any means," and "It wouldn't surprise me if it got done or didn't."

It's a deal. Sportscenter just reported they agreed to terms. No details yet.

Lock it up, this thread is dead.
Someday, we'll hear the bizarre details as to why the Twins allowed the game to keep being played until they lost.
A) they really wanted Santana to be gone
B) they really think they robbed the Mets of prospects

According to the Red Star Fish Wrap:
about $6300 per pitch
about $64,000 per inning pitched
about $630,000 per start

"I don't think it's a stretch to say there will be 20,000 people on that hole," FBR Open chairman Tim Louis predicted. "It will be a wild scene."
I'm just picturing the hole, then the Excel Center(filled), and I'm thinking "marketing".
and then the 150 corporate suites on that hole that fetch $45k for the weekend
Well Wendy, I stand corrected. And furthermore, I've added being in that gallery to my "bucket list".
