Rosemount vs. Burnsville
Moderators: Mitch Hawker, east hockey, karl(east)
I think it will come down to Eastview and Rosemount. Both can put up the goals, but it will be the team that can shut down their opponents scoring. Some inconsistent goaltending on both teams. Also, don't rule out Hastings, they have improved quite a bit since the beginning of the season and have some nice recent victories.

i said thyeve already beaten all other contenders. Rosemount already "kept up with the fast pace" of Woodbury when they already beat them earlier this year, and CDH hasnt been good since.......uh........last year.GRAF 705 wrote:woodbury and cdh. Ya woodbury was so "fast paced" that the irish just went ahead and beat them. The Weight Room wrote:i said thyeve already beaten all other contenders. Graf really doesn't care for Rosemount too much, haha.
I would agree that Eastview will probably be Rosemounts toughest competition come section time. They seem to be able to hold their own, but just for not quite long enough vs a few teams.
Granted Hastings pulled off a couple of upsets, they wont have enough power to keep the juices going the whole game. Woodbury will have to have their A+ game to defeat the Irish.

I agree with everything here..I'd say Eastview or Woodbury could be the ones to knock Rosemount off. They are playing some good all around hockey right now beating a good Burnsville team (yes GRAF i said good) 3-1 and solidly beating Century 6-0. Rosemount has had Eastview's number in the past couple games between them beating them last year in the 1st round of sections but that was last year..this is this year!the one to love wrote:Graf really doesn't care for Rosemount too much, haha.

Should be some great hockey!
oh and to your remark Graf about not being a Burnsville fan and obviously not a Rosemount fan..why did you start this thread?

this is high school hockey...the past doesnt mean anything. the majority of this team wasnt on varsity until last year. i didnt see any folding in the playoffs last year.goldenhockey20 wrote:Personally i actually do think Eastview will take it to the Irish come section playoff time......The Irish seems to be streaky at times and when the going gets rough they have folded in the past, but we'll see

Remember last year it was January 11th that Burnsville decided they were going to be good last year. Before then they were 4-9, after that day 14-3 (included state). Now Im not saying either team is or isnt going to be there in March but Im just saying that its JANUARY 11TH. We still have two months till teams are playing at the X. Heck that gives AV, Chaska, Eagan, LS, and LN a shot to still start tearing it up.
Burnsville hasnt played like they did last year but last year nobody knew about them. Just wait till you start to forget about the Blaze and they might sneak up on you come sections, even if they have to play the "best team in the state" (cough, Holy Angels, cough)

i made the group because i was excited for the game. I am actually a true eagan fan, but i follow all the lake schools closely. Being that eagan is not that great(start the criticism about how good eagan is in a new thread) i was looking forward to a compettive bville rosemount game. Just to clear things up, you can all have your own opinions, none of them make a difference

well in the early season matchup between Eastview and Rosemount RHS won in overtime and the key thing about this game is that RHS was missing arguably the oneof the best Defenseman in the State Luke McManus and also their 2nd best D jordan carlson so i think if RHS has these 2 guys back they should handle Eastview...goldenhockey20 wrote:Personally i actually do think Eastview will take it to the Irish come section playoff time......The Irish seems to be streaky at times and when the going gets rough they have folded in the past, but we'll see

CDH is not that good this year and is showing it. I think woodbury will beat rosemount in sections. yes, i know rosemount has already beaten them this year, but that was the 3rd of 4th game of the season and if u remember woodbury way outplayed them in periods 2 & 3. that being said, it will be a great matchup if it does come down to those 2 teams. The Weight Room wrote:yea if you cant keep up with them, just beat them right?Bash Brother wrote:Ya woodbury was so "fast paced" that the irish just went ahead and beat them. The Weight Room wrote: i said thyeve already beaten all other contenders. I agree with everything komada but the same is said for rosemount, they are playing much better hockey now and they are (or seem to be) all healthy now as they were missing top defenseman Carlson in the Woodbury game. But either way it is going to be an exciting finish for 3AA!komada77 wrote:CDH is not that good this year and is showing it. You don't think that maybe Rosemount is playing better hockey than they were early on. You said it yourself, it was the 3rd or 4th game of the season, insinuating that Woodbury was still working out the kinks, as if Rosemount wasn't. Didn't Woodbury just lose to Hastings?
