I doubt this will be the last we see of Ford, even LeCroy made it back onto the active roster after being exiled.

The wheels are turning already.

This is just the start of an exciting offseason.

Next move, sign Punto to a 2 year extension.

I cant contain all of this anticipation.

The Twins and the Redsox are in a real good position to help each other.

Its almost too obvious.

The Twins will lose Hunter. The Red Sox want to lose Coco Crisp because they have Moonlight Graham to play CF.

The Red Sox pitching rotation is thin both by age and health history. The Twins have depth there.

The Sox are a little thin in the setup part of the bullpen. Assuming Crane comes back and Rincon rebounds, the Twins have depth there.

Lest trade Santana to the Sox for Crisp and Lowell(a sign and trade with the Sox helping on the salary) and sign Cameron off the drug rehab list.

Get a hitting prospect for Crane.

Lets go.

I his last 2 seasons at CLE, Coco hit 15 HRs and batted .300

Put Coco in left and Cameron in CF when he dries out.

Denard..... a back up OF.

So, here is your BO:

1. Crisp

2. Mauer

3. Lowell

4. Morneau

5. Cameron

6 Cuddyer

7. Bartlett

8. Casilla

9. GetaDHtoo

Mike and Mike have talked quite a bit about Johan the last couple days. They seem to think that trading him now is the thing to do. Their opinions mean nothing to me but it does say that Johan is, despite his location, on the national radar.

Right now, I'd be more surprised if he were a Twin on opening day than if he wasn't.

If they do move him, I think it will be after Congressman Mitchell names names.

I dont think that they can afford Santana.

I dont know if Santana wants to stay here.

If they can get some decent players for him, do it.

Otherwise, have him play out his contract and then sign some guys (hitters)with the money you save.

The game is about scoring runs. Get some guys in here who can hit.

Not Denard. We already have a bunch of boffin Denards.

We need some Lowells.

The Chicago White Sox announced today, "Torii Hunter is our Number 1 priority this offseason."

#48 is soon going to become #48.

It will be a significant loss and the first one in a long time.

It seems like Torrii is more interested in being a sought after free agent than a Twin.

The Twins have to find a hitter(s) to replace his production if they are serious about charging admission.

Last night on ESPN, they talked about the Dodgers and how they should trade for GMtana(they referred to him as Santana so I didnt know who they were talking about at first).

Smith has his work cut out for him.

They cant stay with the lineup they have now, sans Hunter.

Get on it.

An already light lineup is well on its way to getting lighter.

Hunter and Santana win Gold Gloves.

We have had enough MVP, Batting Champ, CY Young and Gold Glove awards around here lately to fill a large trophy case.

There is however one big trophy missing.

Lets go get it.

OK, so Hunter probably is gone.

Lets wheel and deal and sign some free agents and show up in April with a better team.

If they let Hunter go and do nothing to replace him except hype Denard , my partial season ticket package can be bought by somebody else.

Not a baseball guy as you were probably aware of. Casual fan. Is Coco Crisp ( with or without milk) really the guy to go afterward? Isn't he on the downhill side of the career. Would he really add what we need? Of course then the question is who else is out there and are they clean of drugs.

I like the idea of Lowell though

The Twins were willing ot spend 15 mil a year for 3 years on Hunter.

Now, if they could use that money to replace him in CF with Crisp and sign a 3rd basemen, LF and DH that can hit and trade GMtana and his 10 mil a year for some guys, they could be a much better team.

Losing Hunter and Santana could work out for them.

But if Pohlad and Smith want to sit on their hands, I will keep my wallet in my pants.

Don't threaten too much.

Packerboy, the Twins just got Hennepin County to donate several 100 million dollars to build them a stadium, what makes you think they even care about your measly $1000 partial season ticket, anyway? :)

They dont care about packerboy but they better be concerned about declining interest in their product if it continues to decline.

New stadiums are great but you gotta have a ballclub.

Ask the Brewers.

The Twins may not care about Packerboy dropping his ticket plan but Tru Green Chemlawn is really trying to make amends with me so that I don't drop their service.

The buzz is that Santana is on the block.

They are talking to him about an extension but if somethng isnt finalised soon, trade talks will ensue in earnest with feelers being out there already.

They need to get an "untouchable" hitting prospect, an established hitter and a couple/three longer shots for him.

Doable? Marlins deal involving Cabrerra?

Twins trades will be for has-beens and prospects. By prospect I mean any player that has three years before he is arbitration eligable.

Pure and simple its the money.

Hunter, Santana, and Silva will all go and Smith will talking up the "potential" of the new players.

Say it ain't so Joe.

That might be a little cynical.

Its about the money for all teams. It just that NY BOS etc have way more revenue than they could possibly spend on salary.

Its not like Steinbrenner's group is losing money because they love the fans.

The Twins have to be concerned about money.

But they have been pretty good at the money ball game and we will see how they do this off season which is probably the most pivotal off season the franchise has ever had.

Many of the guys they rely on now were acquired by trading guys who werent worth to them what the market demanded.
