Just returned from...a hockey game!
Gopher women 6, Ohio State 0
Hannah Brandt with the hat trick and was named the game's No. 1 star!
In our only game this evening it was:
Irondale 1, Benilde-St. Margaret's 4
Caitlin Reilly's two goals and three point night led the Red Knights to a 4-1 win over conference rival and No. 10AA ranked Irondale. Kelly Pannek added a goal and two assists and Brittany Wheeler contributed one goal and an assist. Samantha Donovan scored Irondale's lone goal on a 3rd period power play. For the game BSM had a 33-19 shot advantage.
27 of 32 picked the Red Knights to win. Silent But Deadly, Orange_Wisent, hockeyfan87 and Nimrod all got the 4-1 score right. With the correct score, veteran prognosticator Silent But Deadly moves into a tie for the lead with 9 points. Also with the correct score, hockeyfan87 moves into a tie for 2nd with 8 points.

The results of six of our eight Saturday games are in (including the Tonka/EP matchup reported on above). So far three of these six games have been decided in overtime.
Buffalo 0, Hopkins 6
Nina Rodgers scored a hat trick and added an assist for a four point night, and Grace Bizal assisted on four of the Royals’ six goals for her four point night. Erin O'Neil only needed to make 15 saves – and none in the 3rd period – to come away with the shutout.
All but one get a point, and one gets two – let’s woogieboogiewoogie!
Blake 6, Hill-Murray 5 (OT)
Jordan Chancellor’s goal at 3:22 of overtime lifted the Blake Bears to a thrilling come-from-behind upset victory over the Hill-Murray Pioneers at Aldrich Arena. Chancellor’s goal was the 6th straight for Blake, all coming after Hill-Murray jumped to a 5-0 lead in the 2nd period. Carly Bullock scored the Bears’ tying goal with just 6 seconds remaining in regulation to send it into overtime. Both Chancellor and Bullock had two goals for the night and Alex Lovaas and Lund had four point nights, each scoring a goal and three assists. The Pioneers had a wide 41-18 advantage in shots on goal, as Blake’s goaltender Anna Kruesel finished with 36 saves.
Obviously a huge upset, at least to everyone but one – mrleft – who registers a point.
Edina 4, Wayzata 1
Maddie Wolsmann got Wayzata on the board first with a goal just a minute and a half into the 2nd period, but Edina scored the next four to come away with a 4-1 win at the Plymouth Ice Center. Taylor Williamson had two of the Hornets’ goals and added an assist, while Jackie Pieper contributed three assists. Shot were fairly even at 26-23 Wayzata. Boomer Sonnek, in her first full game back after an injury, stopped 25 of Wayzata’s 26 shots for the win.
This was another upset, albeit a relatively minor one, in the opinion of our group. Just 12 of 32 came away with a point, and nobody got the score.
Bloomington Jefferson/Kennedy 3, Lakeville South 1
Kendal Fasching scored two goals including the game winner to lead Jefferson/Kennedy past Lakeville South at Hasse Arena. Goaltender Bailey Plaman proved tough to beat for Lakeville South as she stopped all but one of the Cougars’ 32 shots.
Yet another upset, this one being pretty significant. Only four predicted a Bloomington victory, and although all four came very close, nobody guessed 3-1.
Red Wing 4, Irondale 5 (OT)
Game stats not yet available – thanks to Knight7 for the score.
30 of 32 had the Knights winning, but again no bonus points awarded in what was a higher-than-expected scoring game.
Still waiting on the results of two games – hope to provide our final point tally before midnight!

Per the MGHCA site:
East Grand Forks 5, Warroad 1
Haley Mack scored four goals - two in the 1st period, including what proved to be the game winner - and added two more in the 3rd period to put the game away for the Green Wave. In goal, Madi Galstad stopped 29 of Warroad's 30 shots as the Warriors finished with a 30-25 advantage in shots on goal.
26 of 32 predicted a Green Wave win, but there was just one - mnhockey3535 - who adds the bonus.

Breck 5, Mound Westonka 2
Grace Zumwinkle scored twice in helping Breck to beat Mound Westonka on the White Hawks' home ice at the Thaler Sports Center in Mound.
