Number 12 and 9 are tremendous players on Sibley and should be on there.

Probably should replace any Sibley players with a few from Farmington.

What associations are these players from? Only recognize one or two names.

Throw Masterman on there and you got yourself a list!

Also, who is Hammer?

Top 97 born players in Minnesota

I think this is accurate (who they play for, not who should be on the list)

Pitlick - SSM
Greenway - SSM
Versich - Sibley
Boeser - Burnsville
Robbel - Jefferson
Koumontziz - Sibley
Garin - Holy Family
Tufto - Chaska
Franta - OMG
Hammer - Woodbury
Barnes - AHA
Kaske - Edina
Freytag - Wayzata

I think Masterman is a 96 birth year. Nice player.

Has anyone seen the Poehling twins from Lakeville North play? They are small but great players! I'd have them in my top 20 as well. :D

I have noticed very many Sibley players throughout the previous thread.
I have watched Sibley a few times this year and they are a bit overrated if you ask me. They have one or two good players. I noticed number 9 and 11. Besides those two, there were no other standouts, and there record is barely over .500 so I think you guys should watch a few other teams.

Agree. Moorhead is a top 10 team and there are a couple 97 players on the team that might be in the top 20. There are also players up north that could be on the list but maybe this is just a metro list as it reads such.

Top 97,98 players

Post by mulesrbest »

2 first year kids that have to be in the top of 97 and 98 age group
#8 Ellingson and #4 Long from Spring Lake Park Bantam A team. Just played them and they could have had 10 goals if it wasn't for our goalie! Top forwards on the team.

Mulesrbest,
I agree Ellingson is a great player too. Haven't seen him play since he was a PeeWee, but he has always been a tough player with nice hands.
A few other nice 1997 players who are in high school are Will Garin(HF), Matt Runyon (HF) and Tom Novak(STA). They may not be bantams anymore but still great 1997's.

Mulesrbest,
I forgot, I would add Gabrielle and Brumm from OMG as top players. Baer from St. Louis Park Varsity is also a nice 1997 player.

No, since they are not bantams.
They are not invited to our Bantam party.

I agree with this, I have seen Tullbane and Sitarz play many times. I don't believe neither Of them are in the top 20
Have to agree, this 'old' list is VERY suspect. Sitarz days were over in Peewee when size made up the difference. Reedy is a scrappy player, but no top 20. And Gabrielle, second liner at OMG whose games for this season where he actually contributed doesn't extend past one hand. Now if you were to ask the blogger of the "Western Elite Hockey Prospects" ...

Sorry Coach. Didn't mean to pick on your guy. Just going by what I'd heard and the lone time I saw him skate this year. Perhaps he was under the weather that day. I'm sure you're doing a lovely job with him.

Some good U16 players that are bantam level too, and also some high school players.

I agree with Royal24, Sitarz is one of the best I have seen. Where is he going to high school? Also, I think Komontziz from Sibley is very overrated.
