It blows my mind how dumb that was to say... He's your AD buddy thats his job to go to those games! I'm no fan of athletic directors and ours doesn't let us do anything. The student section made a giant flag with an the logo on it which is just for our team no disrespect to anyone and it has been taken from us along with numerous other chants, signs, etc. Next thing you know they're gonna be forcing kids to sit at games because and no body is going to be at games anymore because of these ridiculous rules the AD's and the MSHSL are enforcing. #1. It takes away from your accomplishment. Can you only score on a bad goalie? Would a good goalie have saved that shot? When I scored (which wasn't all that often), I liked to think it was something that I did rather than what the goalie did.
#2. Sometimes a team (team a) will totally dominate another team (team b), but the score will be tied late in the game. When Team A scores to take the lead, the crowd will start chanting "sieve" when the only reason Team B is in the game is because of the goalie. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
I don't know, maybe I'm totally overthinking this, but those are my thoughts.

"yeah how about we do the 'lets the puck go by' chant at the beginning of the second even though we're down 4-0" alabama-huntsville's student section is probably better than the U's nowadays.
and slapshot445: If I'm correct, the AD at Edina was the AD at Woodbury for several years including its two state tournament years. Hope you enjoy having your student section in the upper deck!

If its a flag with your school, that says nothing disrespectful towards your school or the school your team is playing who cares? I also want the: "we got the spirit yes we do we got the spirit- how bout you" chant banned- implys that the other school has no spirit, which I think is disrespectful:)
Seriously- I'm all for cleaning up stuff thats really in-appropriate, but its gotten a bit silly.
Its called home-ice advantage for a reason.
The reading the paper bit is about as funny as it gets... It never gets old, like the newspaper itself...
