Interesting not sure of rosters. This says these teams are skipping the International Cup at Blaine as the Chowder Cup is August 1-3.
Interesting. In the past it seemed that everyone wanted to play in the International Cup, and even would draw in some upper level teams from Canada and around the nation. So what would be the big change in philosophy? And why take on all that extra cost when a lot of the best talent is right here?

Maybe some of these girls want to go to college out east so they get to
play against the best U22 womens hockey teams and make some college
visits.

Tough night for the two Icecats teams. I'm surprised that the older Icecats team lost, especially by 4-1, with all the talent they have.

The Goski All Stars are exactly that very good team with many players who have already played a year of D1.

The younger Ice Cats team appeared to be missing some of their key players.

In the last game of the weekend the IceCats (Press) defeated the younger IceCats 9-1. The older team played pretty well with balanced scoring. I have no idea what shots were, but it was a lot to not many - 45 - 10 maybe?

This weekend was really fun to watch - there were some excellent players out there on all four teams. I wouldn't say it was "intense" hockey, but it was very good hockey. I wish there were more "tournaments" like this - not all the hoopla that goes with the sponsored money making events. I think the vast majority of the players had fun - every team had some great moments to be proud of.

p.s. does anyone know who played for the Goski All-Stars - they had some very good players - I think I saw Anna McDonald, Megan Pezon, Caitlan Hogan and others who had completed a couple of years of college, among others.

Yes it was great hockey at cost - I understand Ice Cats purchased the ice and paid the refs then billed the other teams no mark up. All the games were good competition and although there was soft ice due to compressor issues the pace was very good - three 22 minute running time periods, penalties called led only to a line change so good 5-5 hockey (1.25 hour games). Thanks Ice Cats for putting this together - great fun and all at Eden Prairie in the metro area so no travel costs.

State Softball Tournament cut into some teams (Jr. WhiteCaps were without Brausen, Lorence and Capistrant on Saturday)

Don't know all the names but lots of D1 players playing for the Goski All Stars - St. Cloud, Bemidji, Harvard, Mankato, Ohio State (Wild) along with a few D3 and one or two HS players - the older Ice Cats had a number of players headed to D1 this fall.....Anna McDonald did play in the second game on Saturday versus the Jr. Whitecaps - it was fun to see someone with two years of D1 and top National experience playing against Jr and Sr in HS, great experience (think it was most fun for the McDonald sister who were playing against each other!)

This was a great event. I wish more of these "at cost" events could be done vs. the high mark-up that comes with some elite tournaments. IceCats did a great job with this. Here was the roster for the All Stars and not all these players played in all games, some only one, etc.

POS PLAYER TEAM
F Ambroz Minnesota Duluth
F Barton, A. Concordia (WI)
F Feste Ohio State
F Hogan St. Cloud State
F Ketcher, C. Bemidji State
F Koalska Bemidji State

F Pezon St. Cloud State
F Greene Boston College
D Barton, K. St. Francis/NB
D Daggit St. Cloud State
D Kleiber Niagra
D Latta St. Olaf

I should notye that the Micheletti IceCats that tied the "All Stars" were short that game and their goaltender played an amazing game. Very impressive. I assume that the Micheletti IceCats may ahve been short for their 2nd game on Sat as well?

A talented group to be sure, but I'm sure it was the great coaching that put them over the top!

Is this the Mn Jr. Crunch team as it will play this winter playing in this tournament or just a team using the name with a few of the players?

Looks like Bram and Reeces Pieces have picked up where they left off in the Two Nations League - very strong!

If you compare the posts by Media regarding committed players against the I Cup roster it appears the Jr. Crunch is a mix of players. There are a number of still HS players on the team, too.

Do scouts check the stats off the Super Rink Website?

Post by DANCINHOCKEYDAD »

I know it is a nice new tool that the Super Rink has for keeping track of individual stats, however should I be concerned that they have some of the stats wrong. The Super Rink has listed the wrong goalie for a couple of games. I know my daughter would have liked to get credit for the games she played. I also wonder if college coaches check these stats.

Even worse.....I know many players were wearing missing players jerseys so through no fault of the Super rink...much of the information is flawed. Not much you can do about that....hopefully, if someone performed well the coaches/scouts will look deeper than a tournament program or web-site stats! :D

The goaltender stats are wrong
most teams switched tenders half way through the second
peiod and the score keepers didn't change names
so the goaltender who started was given credit for
the whole game

Stats are wrong, too, as refs did a couple number reversals for goal scorers and assists in at least three games daughter played in at the 19u level. The girls did not seem too concerned about it though.

In talking to a parent who had a daughter playing in the 16u level the refs even gave credit to a goalie in one of their games and no, she did not score the goal.

Not sure why across divisions they were having so much trouble there were three of them out on the ice.
