Big win for Rapids; they went into a tough arena, outplayed Cloquet, and got the win. They definitely deserved this one. Does anyone else get the feeling Cloquet is going in the wrong direction? Throw out a couple of routs over Central and Ashland and they're mediocre to bad since mid-December.

As for the Section 7AA implications, this muddies the picture quite a bit, I'd think. With Cloquet's loss, East is probably the only team that really controls their own destiny. If East wins out against Forest Lake and Cloquet, they'll have beaten every realistic contender in the section and will wrap up the #1 seed. If East loses, it gets really ugly. The Anoka-Rapids game will be huge for seeding, and if East loses the winner of that game (or maybe Cloquet) will get #1.

It seemed to me that this was the premier game for Jack Moore, if he can run with what he had going for him in this game I can see him just getting better and better.

Just look at the East game that he played last Thursday...52 SOG and only 4 let in(even though 2 were kind of bad) thats still one heck of a game. Im hoping he can shin more in the future for Rapids, Xspecialy against Anoka and Roseau.

Great game for the Indians. Clicking all night tonight. They thouroughly dominated Cloquet in every facet of the game except cheap shots. Cloquet was chippy from the beginning and GR kept their cool. The penalties may have gone against Rapids, but the calls against were marginal at best. Goaltending won't be an issue for GR down the stretch. Underwood is way more than capable. 3 of 5 D played very well tonight, and all the forwards made a statement. GR just kept coming in waves and Cloquet could not handle the pressure. Big win for the orange and black. Two things for the record. The official shots count for the game is a bit skewed. I started watching to be sure, but GR did not get credit for all their shots, and at times, a puck shot wide or into traffic would get added to the board for Cloquet. If someone were to look at just a score sheet, they would think it was a close game when it was not. The other was the poor reffing AGAIN. Has this been a trend lately? I've seen some poor officiating in the past several weeks. Mostly in GR, but I see it's going on all over. Not good.

Congrats to the fellas, keep it rolling in the right direction.

I would have to agree on this, and the part about the reffing...it's kind of horrorable that the reffs can call such bad calls, take the east game at rapids, GR was starting to put the hurt on east when the reffs were pullin' calls out of thin air...making it a 4 on 5 PP for east to score their 4th goal making the game out of reach for GR.

Jack Moore has been the best player on the ice almost consistently for a couple of weeks. I love the way Underwood is playing also. Pics and summary will be up at some point tomorrow I hope. I am swamped and I have had a long, long day.

Underwood played great,I only seen 1 goal where he should of stood up that went over his shoulder blocker side,but very good job.The team skills,passing,and shooting,still horrible.when are they going to learn you can not shoot threw a goalie.The D did get beat a few times againg,but it was an improvement from the east game.

This was a good hockey game to view. This was a really good game and either team could have won. Rapids got the big goals the games 4th to go up 3-1 and the games 6th to go up 4-2. Shots on goal were really close as well. Both goalies played very well and I thought maybe Rapids went to the net a little harder and #8 Sam Rendle was the games finest player in my unbiased opinion. He,s a hard nosed gritty defensemen who skates, carrys and starts the transition game for Rapids by getting that puck moved up ice. He also has nice vision creating scoring chances in the offensive zone. Hes a smaller player but I really liked him. Jokinen dissapointed me a little. I saw the nice size and the nice skills but he could use a little more Rendle.

Heh boys, dont blame the ref for letting East take the game away. Both penalties I saw in the third were dumb penalties on Rapids side. The first 4 differnt guys ran an East kid in front of the net who didnt even threaten to touch the goalie. When the last guy threw the punch the ref had no choice, the second one was a two handed slash in open ice. No choice to make the call. In the first Grand Rapids had numerous power plays.

The shot totals and score don't reflect the considerable territorial advantage Rapids had in this game. As usual, they didn't shoot the puck enough when the opportunities were there, particularily on the power play. I was a bit suprised by the undisciplined play of Cloquet in the later stages of the game. They were still in the game, yet they were running around taking stupid penalties. Not typical of the Jacks.

quit whining, the reffs didn't lose the game for rapids, east dominated, the game, you keep saying that and saying how poorly rapids played, but give credit to the hounds, they are way better team and will show it at the very end by being #1 seed and this time winning the section title...

calls out of thin air???? you go away boblee, east easily beat your indians and that makes you crazy because you thought the hounds were no good...you saw differently and now you're sweating alittle, admit it?

No one said "the refs made calls out of thin air on Rapids and it cost them the game." The Hounds beat up on Rapids in the regular season, just like they did the last two years. Rapids still played in the state championship both years. There is nothing to worry aboutun Grand Rapids, just like there should be nothing to worry about in Duluth. Each team has 10 regular season games left. That is almost half of a season. There is way too much time left for anyone to get too high or too low. By the way, I was at the DECC when East throttled Centennial 8-2. I KNOW Duluth East is good.
