After watching that game on FSN, Blaine seems to be alot like Hastings. If Welch gets shutdown, so does the rest. It seems to be the same with Zrust. Is her supporting cast that down?boblee wrote:I have never seen a girls hockey player with those wheels, those stick handling skills and such a weak supporting cast. I am not saying Blaine is a bad team, but there is no one on her squad that is in the same league as her.

No question Zrust is a huge for Blaine and without her they would be a very average team. But against AA competition you don't have Blaine's winning record with just one dominant player, not anymore. They do have a good, but small, contingent of supporting players, in particular Danielle Scholzen who any team in the state would like to have on their roster. But there's no doubt that lack of team depth overall has limited their success this season - Zrust has scored 40% of their goals so far, which for an AA team is pretty amazing. I do agree that Welch for Hastings carries a similar load for them.Hansonbrother wrote:After watching that game on FSN, Blaine seems to be alot like Hastings.
