What hunt? Marshall is in the hunt? I'm happy for the kids from marshall that made the cinderella run to state, but 3A, your an idiot.
Marshall wont win five games next year, and Luverne doesnt matter? Its official, the only creatures on the planet that possess such jealousy are women, i've been curious for a while, but its official, 3A must be a woman to harbor such feminine jealousy towards a program.
Get over it you disgusting slob.

Whoa now, comparing 3A scout to a woman is going too far.........at least the women I know are not this bad, you should not put down women like thatnotTONIGHT wrote:What hunt? Marshall is in the hunt? I'm happy for the kids from marshall that made the cinderella run to state, but 3A, your an idiot.

I spoke with some Luverne folks & it is not as bad as 3A and a couple other posters have made things out. Tough loss to swallow but shifting their sights to redemption next year. Every program has its unhappy parents, some are just more vocal then others.
The biggest hurdle that Luverne has now is pscychological. 3A scout is just an annoying gnat.
Surprised 3A Scout did not plagiarize this year, congrats on that!

Solid Jabs Guys and well deserved on my end.
I just dont see much out of Luverne ever again. They had a huge talent gap over everyone in this section this year and their coaches ruined it. Next year they return a lot of talent but I just dont see them winning till they prove they can play 3 periods or smart system based hockey. I just have never seen their forwards ruin an actual forecheck.... I just dont see it out of this group.
I know I am hard on their coaches but wow come on guys how do you not get out of the weakest section in the state with the talent base this year. I know that I was told one of them is very dedicated to the youth program which is how you start building a firm base for years to come..... But was also told he may be leaving... Not sure if this is fact or fiction just what I was told. I am sure LuverneAlumni and BuffaloRidge are not making their coaches want to stay.(Its not just me who has been critical) Maybe it would be best for both sides for a change in direction.
Anyways was told again today that Campion is not leaving his brother just having some fun with you guys.
Should be an interesting year I really think it comes down to Hutch & New Ulm .... However as this year proved anything can happen!

Cant have it both ways, either Campion played great, and is a good player. Or Luverne coaches ruined their team, and it didnt matter that he was in the nets. Cant have both buddy.Section 3A HockeyScout wrote:Solid Jabs Guys and well deserved on my end.

IMO Luverne wasnt ruined anymore than you ruin this thread, they just ran into a helluva hot goalie in the playoffs. Happens all the time in this game. Your agenda to verbally assault the Luverne coaching staff is unwarranted, and now you run your mouth about rumors of them leaving? Your sources must be employed at http://www.theonion.com/ .

Section 3A Programs that have teams Participating in A Youth State Tournaments kicked off today;
Results:
A Bantam State Tournament
Mahtomedi 7
Hutchinson 3
Hutch was in this game with the #1 ranked Zephyers. Ran out of gas in the end. Hutch will play the loser of Delano vs. Thief River Falls tomorrow. Bright future for Hutch they return a wealth of talent next season then sprinkle in this group of young gems Future bright in Hutch!
A Pee Wee State Tournament
Luverne 1
Cottage Grove 0
Well the Luverne youth keeps turing out a really good product. For this team to be advancing to the State Semifinals minus their top player (He played Bantams this year) says a lot. Luverne plays the winner of Minneapolis vs East Grand Forks tomorrow.
Congrats to bouth Section 3A Youth Programs for advancing to the Tourney at the Youth Level.
Good Luck to both teams as they head into tomorrow!

Update from 3A Youth Ranks
A Bantam State Tournament
Thief River Falls 6 Hutchinson 4
Hutch Great Bantam season come to an end. Like I said the Tigers look like the favorite in 3A next season.
A Pee Wee State Tournament
Minneapolis 4 Luverne 2
Well the Cards run comes to an end in the State Semis. Great Season for the Cards like I alluded to they played the season without a stud add him they might have won the whole thing... Yet their High School Coach will still find a way to screw this group up when it counts!

As for Hutch and Luverne... I wouldn't look into the PW stuff to much.. I mean 2 or 3 kids at that age level can take to you to the promise land. Youth hockey is tough because things change a lot between PW, Bantam and HS.. I see Litch being the pain in ass to play in years to come. They have a decent Bantam and PW group with good numbers at both.. Numbers mean a lot especially with the size of all the programs in 3A!

I have to respectful disagree with you. Youth Hockey generally translates to High School. If you look at the A State Tournaments of the past many of those team end up being their in High School. Most of the teams at state this year for high school were very successful at the youth ranks all the way up. Both Hutch and Luverne proved they have some good teams coming by posting good years at the youth.
Litch has high numbers but the talent hasnt always been there. Their Bantam A made a nice run in Regions so that group will be solid they always play hard as well. However, have heard rumblings that in 3 to 4 years that program will be separating into two programs. Their will be a Litch team and a Dassel Cokato team on their own. Heard that more then once up in Litch this winter. But it is rumor so who knows.
No matter what it is good to see Hutch and Luverne 3A programs at the State Tourney in youth ranks. Makes for hopefully better hockey down the road. Doesnt make it that they will go anywhere in high school but should have decent talent.
Hutch is the HUGE favorite next year followed by the always dangerous New Ulm. Then you look at Litch and Willmar and Campion or I mean Marshall. Should be a battle all year between those 5 teams!

Only two 3A kids on the whole team... Janssen Windom & Neuman NU Says alotTheSiouxSuck wrote:Not a single kid from Luverne on the Great 8 team? Did their coaches just not send anyone or did no one make it?
No Luverne kids not surprised shows they were over rated all year! If their coach really did forgot to put annyone up another reason the guy should be fired! If you cant teach anything at least promote your kids

SiouxSuck just add to the list why luverne would be so much better if there was a NEEDED coaching change.

The great 8 is very political. Many quality players from 3a or other areas quite commonly do not make that team that should. Austin Maxwell would have been a very nice choice, as would winneger. We all know from experience that it is not the best selection process.
When is the last time Marshall had a player on the team 3a? You have had many quality players that should have made it, but the politics of the other areas get in the way.
Marshall will be awful next year. Campion will have no help - no defense, and not one forward that can score. He will be a waste sitting in net in Marshall. I heard from one of our players that he is still hoping to leave or not play and detests the coach. Regardless, one good goalie will not be enough for Marshall to win more than 7 games next year. They will be under 500 for the season - easily.
Program is over.

Maxwell was invited. Will be out of the country, wont be attending.
Luverne had Sengvonxay advance all the way to the select 15 national camp in New York last year WITH COACH BROWN BY HIS SIDE EVERY STEP OF THE WAY! Your statements are based as far from fact as planet earth being flat, or the pope being jewish.
Can someone get this shirt for 3A hockey scout? thanks..

Political selection process or not, the biggest issue for 3A seniors to overcome is they are matched with 3AA Seniors. Are the coaches going to select a kid from Eagan, Eastview, East Ridge, or Cretin or from Marshall, Hutch, or Luverne? I see Section 4 winning the whole thing with the St. Thomas Academy/Hill Murray All Star Team.woodpencil wrote:The great 8 is very political. So Maxwell was on the team but declined ?? How do you pass up on the Great 8?
Did this year teach us nothing people. Marshall was carried for 3 games by Campion next year he is a Senior. He will be even better. He is the top goalie By a landslide in this section. Marshall will be dangerous night in and night out with him in the net.
Hutch & NU- Superior Talent
Willmar and LDC- Great Coaching and the Drive to win
Marshall- Mr. Campion will carry his whole team like this year
Everyone else- Hopefully they are three sport athletes and can enjoy football, baseball, tennis, cross country or some other sport that no one in MN cares about.

Blame it on the political process.. How about blame it on the talent level!! 3AA is probably the weakest AA section as well..Air Force 1 wrote:Political selection process or not, the biggest issue for 3A seniors to overcome is they are matched with 3AA Seniors. To me the most shocking part of Luverne not having a rep at the great 8 was that the rest of the section was very weak in terms of seniors, while everything I had heard about Luverne was they had such a dominant senior class. Hutch and New Ulm's best players were underclassmen (Neumann being the exception.) All the hype about Maxwell, Solma, and Wenniger and all 3 are excluded was a bit of a shocker considering how weak the rest of 3aa/3a is for seniors.

Dominate Senior class? Luverne!??!?!?! what are you talking about they only had like 4 seniors on their team... Wenninger and Maxwell both top end players but Dominate Senior Class??? Where did you pull that one from?
Marshall Had 10 Seniors as did Litch both those teams were very senior heavy... Even Worthington and Windom were more Senior heavy then Luverne.
Not sure what your talking about when you say dominate senior class 4 kids does not scream dominate to me not sure that was ever even said?
Luverne is not worth even talking about not sure why keep bringing them up they will go back to being a team no one cares about. They had a chance this year but their coach blew it.

Several top end Seniors? Luverne had two? 4 total on the team they return alot of solid players.... They will underachieve because of terrible coaching but they do return most of thier team.
Are you getting Marshall and Litch both who graduate over half their roster this year with Luverne?
Agree they were overhyped and had terrible coaching but senior dominated...... umm

Respect your opinion but several seniors 2 maybe 3 at the most? Other teams in this Section will graduate far more seniors
I love how this idiot had to mix in a "Luverne coach sucks" or any other shot he can think of at Luverne in every post he has. He has lost all credibility in my eyes. It almost getting to the point that this thread is not worth reading anymore with this garbage.
