That's better than nothing Govs. :)
Does anyone else think Punto should be bunting when someone is on and no outs. Strikeout looking.

Well, Punto shouldn't be up to bat period, so no, he shouldn't be.

Trailed all 27 innings of the CLE series.

Outscored 9-0 in innings 1, 2, & 3.

It's painful and they are still around .500, I didn't think I would ever forget what those early 80's and mid to late 90's season were like, but I think I have.

This actually reminds me more of the middle to late 70s when The Genius was here. They had some nice ball teams but not enough.

What they lacked then was pitching. Good hitting teams with Hisle Bostock, Carew, Wynegar, Smalley, Adams etc.

They always finished close to .500

Here's you report from the dome this afternoon...

Garza has the boys in their sleeveless jerseys today... and that aint workin' either. they're down 3 after half an inning.

There are roughly 52 people in here... I think there are more outside in lawnchairs waiting for a Kirby bronze statue at tonight's game than there inside for this game.

First off, I haven't been ignoring you guys (if you care) but sometimes real life intrudes. It looks like I might be going out on strike on Wednesday. I'd rather not, but sometimes you have to take a stand. I thought about creating a separate thread but I know it can be a polarizing issue so I just wanted to mention it here and if you guys want details or want to offer support or harangue me feel free to do that via personal message. I won't say any more as this is a Twins thread and I'm not trying to hijack it.

So it looks like Garza had kind of a rough start yesterday and then Baker turned around and pitched 8 innings of no-hit ball. Baker looked intimidated last year but he's made the adjustment to the majors that Boof and Garza need to make. Of those three Baker probably has the least physical talent but he's made the mental jump to the major league level. That should help Garza and Boof learn what it takes to pitch at this level.

At this point the Indians look like the team of destiny in the Central and the playoff hopes for our Twins have settled under the water. Now we'll be watching these guys to see how the young pitchers do and enjoy probably the last month of Torii in a Twins uniform.

Thanks CNT, maybe I'll start a picket line thread if it comes to that.

Twins tied 3-3 in the 5th...

I have no problem if you want to start a thread on this. Sometimes strikes are necessary. Speaking from an AFSCME employee standpoint, that is. Image

Yup. I'll start a separate thread so we can get this one back to the Twins.

Twins 6, Royals 4, 8th.

All square and.............. will be lucky to finish there.

I see GMtana is now calling upon his teamates/employees to give it their all.

I dont know that he is the one who should be saying that since he has failed miserably to live up to his role as ace pitcher. Although I understand that he is making some nice progress in his new GM role.

Shut up and pitch.

They should trade him now. Get a DH and a hitting prospect for him. His value may never be higher especially in light of his new found GM skills.

Should have stayed for the night game.

Post by Knowlzee »

Govs, should have stayed for the night game. Plenty of fans,.....and a wonderful performance by Baker. "Perfect" game until the ninth, when he walked the leadoff batter, and gave up a hit to Sweeney. Then he settled right back down,.....and completed the game. Very fast, entertaining game,......a pitching gem,.....like an ace.

Speaking of the ace,.....listened to a little of the beginning of the game yesterday. GMtana dug them into a hole again. Noticed he didn't get the loss,....so the bats must have got him out, at least for a time. Keeping Castillo,....or obtaining a new hitter or two,.....has no affect on starting each game from behind.

Pitch,....like an ace.

Ok, Ok, the Twins are not gong to go on a tear as IS predicted.

They have been very dissapointing on a lot of fronts. They have had a bad year.

It will be interesting to see how they resond to this.

But I would still rather be a Twins fan and a MLB fan than a Vikings/NFL fan.

I am troubled by what I read in the paper that Hunter is looking for 70 mil over 5 yrs. I dont think he will get that, will he? At age 32?

Apparently the Twins have offered 45 million for 3 yrs. There is an obvious middle ground there. Hunter sign.
