- Woodbury (13-1-2)
- Lakeville South (9-7-0)
Lakeville has outscored the Predators 8-6 through 2 meetings this seasons and they have the goaltending to pull upsets. In fact, Lakeville handed Woodbury their only district loss of the season, so the Preds are probably as happy to see Lakeville as Rosemount is to see Sibley. Gun to my head I'll go with the the Lakeville goalie in a mild upset and the win for LAKEVILLE.
Having written all that, those picks could easily go 0-4, as this District is really as it should be - up for grabs. If Woodbury does survive the Lakeville South game, they would have to be favored to go the distance, considering they are 13-1-2 in district play, but it would be very marginal at best, as teams like Sibley, with a 6-8-2 ledger could just as easy win the whole thing.

WOW! The fun in D8 starts early. So Woodbury vs River Heights in the first round of the Great 8 in D8. Pass the popcorn ...

In a no-brainer - Moorhead #1, Detroit Lakes #2 and Alexandria #3 (based on their season sweep of Brainerd, outscoring them 13-4)
Additionally, Moorhead should be an easy winner at regions and I would be willing to bet dollars to doughnuts we'll see the Spuds in the State Tournament.
So EGF will play Bemidji at 9AM Sunday morning, with the winner wrapping up theDistrict Championship and the #1 seed. For sure EGF is a small favorite, but this game is no gimme. These teams battled well this season, though EGF swept a close series 5-4 snd 4-1.
If EGF does win they wrap up the #1 seed and Bemidji falls to the "B" side championship where they will compete with the best of the rest for the #2 seed.
Blaine 5-2
Andover 3-2-1
Elk River 4-3
Centennial 0-5-1
Andover 3
Elk River 2
So D10 Championship Game is set;
Centennial
Andover
Meanwhile, the 2nd seed is up for grabs in a backyard brawl with Rogers facing Elk River and Blaine awaiting the winner of Champlin Park and Anoka. The 2 victors, likely Blaine and Elk River, will slug it out for a chance to play the District runner up for the final seed next weekend. At least one good team will see it's season end in 7 days ...
Final
Anoka 6 (OT)
Champlin Park 5
At Centennial next Saturday:
Rogers vs. ER
Anoka vs. Blaine
The winner's play Sunday morning at Anoka Arena. The winner then plays the loser of Andover vs. Centennial on Sunday night at Anoka Arena.
Only two District 10 teams advance to Regions in 2012.
Edina and Eden Prairie are now both guaranteed no worse than 3rd seed and will play each for a spot in the championship game.
On the other side of the bracket, Tonka plays Prior Lake and Burnsville plays New Prague. The winners of those games can do no worse than the 4th seed.

As only Scorekeeper can, he writes 3 nice recaps of D6, D8, and D3 Bantam A games/brackets last night for our site. Thanks SK....nice work. The D3 one has more detail. There is also a mini recap of D11, too.
Editorial Note: I hate to see good teams like Prior Lake sent to the "B" bracket in shootout fashion. Shootouts are great for tournaments, when teams are traveling and timing is everything, but to call a game a "victory" that has "regional" and "state" implications is sad.
