If Roseau would have had a decent power play they would have won the game. Next year schedule teams that will make you better and improve as the season goes along. Roseau got the benefit of the calls tonight, just couldn't do anything with them.

Congrats to HM on knowing what it took to finally do what no other team could do in over 30 games...beat the Rams by playing dirty. Hats off to them. Not.

As for Roseau:

We can all take it easy on Aaron Ness. The kid carried the team on his shoulders for two years. And he showed up tonight. Despite what you all say, he showed up. An assist on their second goal with under a minute left? The kid doesn't give up. So when he wins Mr. Hockey you can all eat your words.

Mike Lee played average tonight, huh? Hmmm definitely not. It could have easily been 7 or 8 to 0 after two periods. He stopped numerous breakaways. Yes, the first two goals were marginal, but he will win the Frank Brimsek next year so take it easy. And remember, it was the kid's first loss.
Way to take your team losing with class. I think the only thing that blowed tonight was the Rams power play. What a great HM PK!

Is it a penalty if it is not called? Hockey is a rough sport. There's checking and everything. Did the Rams fans forget this? How come there's no mention of the Rams shots after the whistle? The takedown behind the net that eliminated their powerplay. HM played a great physical hockey game that the Rams have obviously not seen this year.

Does Ltrip stand for long trip home? (without the hardware)

Ness was not impressive. Watched many plays where he stopped back checking on a HM rush. Seemed as if he quit midway through the 3rd.
:-k
So, Lee is average and Ness is not impressive.
I would say you are a hockey wizard. :P

yes hand it to Hill. they got the win and they deserved it. roseau didnt come to play and hill did. the refs may have been brutal and yes nanne is a moron. but the bottom line is the team that came to play won and that is all...and to answer the question of the roseau weak schedule their schedule ranking was the same as the acadamy of holy angels. no talk of their weak schedule?

first, I think the penalties were alittle lopsided
Second, HM beat he rams by 4
third, I think was out there for 5 or 6 of he goals against, someone can correct me.
fourth, sometimes the first loss is only the beginning to the second

As it has already been said, perfect gameplan for Hill. From the start, they were physical and ended up taking the energy out of Roseau's top guns come the middle of the third period. The defense cleared out second chances and the forwards had some golden opportunites that Lee made solid saves on. Keep playing this way tomorrow boys!!

It's hard to get around trees standing on the blue line. Hill executed a great game plan. Roseau is the better team... Not tonight though.

Someone, get Roseau's skates sharpened!
I really feel that the good guy lost in this one! I feel for them.

Hill only has 3 loses and played a lot of the top teams. I don't know how you can say Roseau is the better team. It's high school sports, I didn't realize ther were bad guys?

I think tonight proved that they are indeed not the better team. Nothing can be said about it. They played head to head and lost. HM is the better team, period.

Well, when Grand Rapids beat Roseau and Hill Murray and Edina and Burnsville the last two years at state this bored said it was a fluke.

No fluke, (don't believe in them) I would say that they were better than those teams that year. They were the 2nd best team in the state the last 2 years. There's nothing I could say to make it any other way. They beat them, they're better than them.

Just got home...

Hill played very good tonight! Excellent physical game plan, one that I thought would not work by putting the Rams PP on the ice, but Hill PK and Phillipi won the game!

Rams let the play get into their head, they looked tired, passes were not hitting, and missed on bouncing pucks all night... Too many odd man rushes were given to Hill, Lee was getting blitz all night with 2 on 1's and breakaways...

Ness was not in this game; I will say this, there were many times that he stopped skating, and as an old hockey guy, that was upsetting to watch...

Congrats Hill, you have a tough matchup tomorrow, but I don't think the Hornets (D1 loaded) looked that good tonight either, so that could go in your favor...

Rams - 42 wins straight, not bad kids, hopefully the Citiots will see that this was something special too, I know I do as one of them and tip my hat to ya :D

No question about it, Hill Murray slapped Roseau in the face and Roseau couldn't respond. Was it the chippiest game I've seen, no but it was close. Is this figure skating? No get over it. Hill came to play and Roseau didn't end of story. Ness and Lee still good player, no question about it. Yeah Hill and Edina final! I'm going to go self-vomit.
