Hey, I've always tried to give credit where credit is due. BIAFP called it right by predicting a Centennial victory over Moorhead, however there were no "mashed potatoes" to be found on the ice that day, so he was mistaken about that. I have seen Centennial play and I have seen Moorehead play. I didnt see the game on Saturday. Based on that, which is limited, I dont agree that the Spuds cant beat them. But if you are right, who is in the same league as Centennial? The answer would have to be no one and that isnt any fun at all and would go against the grain of some , if not many, of the posters on this fabulously entertaining forum. We have to realize the complex nature of the observation and implement a specific research strategy, through description, correlation and manipulation. Once an experimental model is developed, we can apply basic research techniques through a variety of schools of thought, whether it be Gestalt Psychology, behaviorism, functionalism and maybe even structuralism. We could start out with a general hypotheses as a Declarative Statement. This could be general or specific in nature and one could actually accept or reject the null hypothesis. We must first define the variable(s) involved and then select the use of response measures, summarize our conclusions and go from there. The term variable per se refers to some feature of the world that can be specified by at least two or more scale values. Designations such as home ice advantage, fatigue and size of ice and/or its' conditions belong to the variable of factors in a hockey game. The physical condition of the human body after a tough conditioning session (i.e. Moorhead playing White Bear only hours earlier) itself is a physical variable, which could influence change in the outcome of the contest we are referring to. Scales, on the other hand, assign discriminably different designations, in terms of a prescribed set of rules, to the various objects or features of the world to which they refer. This assignment of different designations, usually numbers, can be done rather primitively, such as simply indicating that one object or feature is different from another ... i.e. Olympic size ice sheet vs. traditional, North American smaller size. There are a variety of scales to choose from whether it be nominal, ordinal, interval or ratio. Ratio scales not only provide information as to the equality of differences between two teams on a scale in comparison with two other teams, as in the inverval scale, but also have a true zero point. Being a man who understand numbers, I'm sure BIAFP would agree with this point. Then you measure response to these variable (losing a game, as opposed to winning a game) and measure its sensitivity and validity and try to come up with a certain degree of reliability. With this in mind ... we could surmise that the first step in the process of scientific inquiry involves the formulation of a problem in broad perspective. Well, personally, I like the idea of manipulation within the behavorism school of thougt so as to account for some misbehavin within a devoloped model. The assignment of scale just makes me itchy. Variables confuse me...too many options. Reliability has never been my forte and validity is so hard to get, especially if you park downtown. I dunno, Id say anecdotal reports are the best so long as they are given on or near premises licensed to distribute adult beverages. But sure, I think that answers my questions and some I hadnt thought of yet too.

Now we can see that Moorhead's drubbing at the hands of the powerful Cenntenial club really does "go against the grain" of what he would like us all to believe, but the proof is indeed in the pudding. As predicted by yours truly as well as BIAFP and several others of this most fine forum who are not going with the grain established here, the supposed unbeatable Spuds were indeed beaten and there is nothing you or any of your cohorts can do about that! Now we have VideoScout laying out some refuteable reasons as to why this happened, but none of those matter - I still see Cenntennial 3 Moorhead 1 in the record book. On a side note, the proposed movie project is back on the table with a wholesale cast change - the venerable Spuds and coaches have been replaced by the f/ka/ Chiefs club and their coaches due performances not living up to their huge billing by a few of the posters that patrol these waters. Angus, These parrots just don't see the big picture. Moorhead and Warroad are will continue to be O Forever in the Big Show. When push comes to shove, these two teams don't have the backbone. Bring back the backdoor and the tourney will be complete!

Now those really go against the grain of some of the more mature posters on this stage. By the way, is Centennial still as good as that game they played against Edina? Are you willing to do an exacta on a section? Section #3 maybe? Reminds me of an old song.....yah it goes somehting like this: .....I left my heart.....in section 8 (Thank you, thank you very much) .... theres no other section, not even 3 ....when they come home with the trophys this March... .....that golden sun will shine on slappyyy....

I pledge no allegiances to anyone. I get my kicks outta pickin on the ones that have had alot to say this year. Slappy is all-cool and he has good "Posting skillz," Blues makes me laugh daily,er at least whilst he is not detained in a fast moving 'eddy.' I just prefer to disagree and that is a fact of today, tomorrow, and yesterday. The Spuds will fall before St. Paul. I hate to see it as it will cost me financially and otherwise but these is da facts. These boys have been on da high horse too long and its time that the likes of Section 8 prove them wrong and officially end the domination factor. We shall see what we shall see, but I wouldn't be counting your chickens before they hatch in the case of your Section 8 favorites. "It's a Long Way to the Top if You Want to Rock and Roll" - translation - March 10th and 11th are quite a few games away for the Spuds and Warriors. We'll see if they are on the ice on those dates.

Ive always liked that one of me. Pretty good lookin crew and obviously boffo box office appeal. You have to be impressed with the versatility of Bluesbuddy, able to play either a male or female major role.

Well SS, Its like Ive always said, "You can pick your friends..and you can pick your nose..but you cant pick your friends nose." Apparently ,the only thing others can pick is their nose. This is all about the exacta for the crown. A number of most entertaining posters on this fabulously exicting forum have picked away, if you will, at those who have commited to section 8 for the exacta or parley. But have they picked an alternative ? There are some intriguing possibilities outside of the right nostril. Who has made a case?
