AHA vs. Shattuck
Moderators: Mitch Hawker, east hockey, karl(east)
Once again someone takes a perfectly good topic and twists in the "r" word, real nice. Yes SSM does recruit, they have to they are not a MSHSL team they play a whole different ballgame. AHA does not recruit, be there done that, posted that, end of story.
Yes they do have hometown players. Their hometown is the Arcdiocese of MPLS and ST Paul, also been there, done that, posted that, end of story.
Go back to the real topic. The game and who might win and the reason, otherwise let it go.....

Gretzky isn't on the Prep team. Point still stands though.Fargo wrote:No -I would say that too.Gotothenetman wrote:Only you would say that. Sid Crosby New Foundland and Ty Gretzky from Arizona; MN High school hockey is not what it used to be when Henry Boucha was the man among boys.
How bout dem der Spuds and 7AA? Ya you betcha.
Although, in my mind, SSM is in a different boat then AHA. They know what they're doing with their program and don't try to B.S. the state by playing in the MSHSL. I'm ok with SSM, and I think it's cool that they put AHA and Breck on their schedule - they don't have to. I'll be at the game because of it.

This game is of very little interest to me as well.Govs93 wrote:Gretzky isn't on the Prep team. I would agree that AHA is among the same caliber as SSM in the recruiting department. If AHA wins it proves they belong in AAA not high school hockey. It's not like the kids that go there get much better beating the crap out of their weak conference game in and game out. If the school had character, and want to recruit, they should go play with St. Mary's

gatzke, read Zamman's post and all the other threads about this. That has nothing to do with this game.
AHA doesn't recruit, as you all know, most have parents and siblings who are alumni. This isn't even a game with a public school and you are making dumb posts about things you aren't even right on. Especially the Missota comment.

If AHA wins it does not mean they should go out and be a school like SSM. If they win it is because they played harder and won the game. That is all. Stillwater tied AHA, does that mean they should go and play SSM and tie them, NO.
This is just another poster who is clueless to the situation. Most people who post on hear know that AHA has no choince in their conference, otherwise I would guess they would have left a while ago. One more thing, stop the "R" word stuff. You co not know anything about it, You are just reading it hear and them commenting.

Why not Zamman? Maybe they should! As can be read here, most posters are... well lets call it envious of your program. They basically say their teams can't compete with AHA, and use the "R" word as an excuse for their ineptitude. They've pretty much dominated the MSHSL the last 5 years, and as you say, been there done that.Zamman wrote:If AHA wins it does not mean they should go out and be a school like SSM.

Amazing how it always seems to be Spud fans who come on here and posts about the "r" word. Hey HOFLamer and Fargo, guess what... I understand you are illiterate, but next time do your best to read the forum. Lee and Mitch have a thread where you whiners can go cry all day and night about BETTER teams than the Spuds and their so called recruiting practices. I understand you're envious, but come on, NOBODY wants to hear it.

Third times a charm.
Does this mean teams like last years Apple Valley should leave High School and play with SSM? Also teams that beat them previously? i don't think so. they belong in the MSHSL.Neutron 14 wrote:Why not Zamman? Maybe they should! Im gonna avoid all the arguing
does anybody know who SSM's goalie is?
Well ok for my arguement. they both recruit so each team is evil and cannot win, but since SSM isn't MSHSL then they can recruit so SSM wins big

It's a very long confusing name but he is probably the weakest player on the Prep team. After watching the team last weekend up in Grand Forks,ND playing in the Midget Invite they went 1-2, outshooting 2 of the 3 teams and losing both of those games. Goalie is very weak but they are very skilled offensively and defensively. As for Ben Blood, very good potential because of his size and physical ability but he really needs to work on puck handling and speed. Top player would probably be Brock Montpetit from Somerset,WI

Oh...and my prediction, considering Shattuck beat EVERY single MN Elite Team and those are the best of the best, Shattuck is looking at this game as another W. AHA is a very good team don't get me wrong but were talking about a team who didn't lose to any elite teams this fall and is ranked #1 in the MidgetAAA Rankings. I'd say it should be pretty close until the third. Shattuck takes this one. 7-4

Really, Stars612 would you like some cheese. As far as stupidity, you really can't see sarcasm when it stares you in the face. I really am not a Spuds fan. I am a Northern MN hockey fan.
I just have a great distaste for teams that consider their hometown the entire twin cites and surrounding area and then state they do not RECRUIT. I never in a million years thought I would say this, but I would rather see EDINA win if they have a game with HAHAHA then the other team. EDINA was the team to love to hate (along with HM) in the 70's and 80's. They do have a good group of players coming up.

I will say it again. Take your nonsensical BS about the "r" word out of this thread. There is an entire thread for people like you called "recruiting." Go whine there. As for the Spud thing, I was more referring to HOFamer, he always seems to pop up and ruin perfectly good threads...Fargo wrote:stars612 wrote:Amazing how it always seems to be Spud fans who come on here and posts about the "r" word.
