Since ithey are in different classes and it is so early in the season, i think the rankings should stay the same until either sta or cdh looses to someone in that class.. cdh vs sta will say alot but thats a few weeks away, and even tho marshall tied sta not beating them will probably keep them in second

Any shots on goal for the cdh dm game?

So you think even if STA loses they will still be ranked ahead of marshall because they tied?

FSN should have televised this game instead of the Maple Grove and Minnetonka game

Yeah I was there.. Marshall kept pressure on the puck the whole game so most of the game was played in Cretins end, they could hardly clear it.. DM out skated CDH wearing them down by the 3rd period(where they scored all four goals) Also solid goaltending by Jesse Behning. One of the most exciting games I've been to in a while.. Nice comeback by DM!

Scoring for DM: Bobby Gutch (2), Jack Connolly, and Ian Guzzo

This must have been one hell of a game, I think that games like that should be replayed on fsn or something for all us losers who couldnt get down to the cities. nfl network??? how about a mn hs hockey network....that sounds better :D

Totally agreed. As you put a smiley after it, realistically it would probably be watched 24/7.

it was a wierd game, when they had momentum, they were rollin, cretin scored 2 in what was or what seemed like less than 1 minute and than marshall scored 3 in 2 minutes. I don't think cretin is #1 in class AA (they are just livin on last years team). this game showed me in most cases there is no or little difference in A and AA

It was proved that THE TOP A team. Not the top few.

kudos to DM - however, wasn't Cretin playing without Chris Hickey (Wisconsin Recruit)? People put too much into the rankings, especially this early in the season.

Who says DM is the top? STA has to be beaten first.

The top A team? STA beat them last year and tied them this year in Duluth. Maybe tied but no way the top team.

Cretin is without their top player. They could not win a game until January and still have a good chance come March. Even so, they beat Breck 8-3.

I was at the game.

Uneventful 1st period. 0-0

Second period ended 2-0 CDH.

Third period was dominated by DM.

CDH played poorly, even sloppy at times, but give DM credit, they are good.

CDH will be a lot easier to coach this week.

To define a private school as class A based on enrollment numbers rather than program strength is folly. Total enrollment numbers mean little when you "pick" who enrolls. Hill, AHA, BSM are examples of class A sized private schools that opt up due to their program strength. I believe Cretin is also. Why not Duluth Marshall?

You want to be "compared" with Class AA? You ain't got the "seeds".

As always, my props to Roseau in the public sector.

Or you could consistently beat top AA teams, who would in turn stop scheduling you.
....Can't thank you enough for the time.

Come again?( I wonder what ever happened to the Chucker, he was good)

What happened on Sat where the #1 AA team lost to the #2 A team goes 'against the grain' of many who just assume all Class AA top teams are better than all A top teams.

But I agree with Neut. If you want to compare yourself to class AA, just write the letter to the MSHSL and opt up.

However, Neut needs to delete 'private' from his comments because it is folly to place any hockey program based just on enrollment and he acknowledges as much in his commnet about Roseau.

CDH was without their top player, who was the reason they were ranked so high.

As for why Marshall isn't AA. Look at the results from last year, they are a strong A school, but couldn't handle the little AA competition.

Sadly the same for STA. 1-1 with HM and 0-2 with CDH. Tartan, North and Sibley don't count.

They had a few good years, but their program doesn't have the history yet. CDH opts up in every sport, they aren't up in hockey because of their hockey program, they are up because they are in the top class in all sports.

Does win over Minnetonka count? Why is STA ranked #1 without Schroeder? So Hicky alone is why CDH is ranked #1? Think again. State Champs rank #1 until they lose.....#-o #-o #-o #-o #-o
