District 8

Post by BJHockey10 »

Bodangles is 100% right about district 8 being overlooked in the rankings. IGH and Lakeville are much better teams to be ranked only #7 and #8. Its a shame only 2 teams from district 8 can make it to state, because all three teams - woodbury, igh, and lakeville deserve it. They can take anyone from the metro league.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... ockey10 at: 1/27/06 10:31 pm

Maybe D8 can take on best of the Metro League, but you wouldn't be able to prove it by the results in the Wayzata Tourney.

IGH lost to Wayzata 1-0 and Woodbury lost to lowly Chaska. Both D8 teams were ranked higher than the team that beat them.

Heck, Chaska isn't even in the top 10 according to LPH.

Must be lingering affect of the the long bus ride.

Chaska is #5 according to lets play hockey and they are a good team with speed, but there are not excusses for wdby, they should have won

southpaw, lakeville just pwned every team and they are D8, so i dont know what you are talking about, stop trashing teams or leagues cause there are a lot of teams that can step it up or lay an egg any day, lakeville won the edina tourny and has a good chance to win this wayzata tourny...
pwned

Friends, I believe I were talking about the Friday night results. Woodbury and Lakeville didn't skate until Saturday. The "don't count your chickens" analogy certainly fits.

No doubt about it - some of those D8 boy can bring it.

My congrats to the Mighty Lakeville lads, it was an impressive championship game (but they should be in D6 anyways LOL).

Was very impressed by the speed of Wayzata kids too, they just kept coming.

In a game like that it is difficult to call one team a loser and one a winner when they had to go to double OT and then needed a second set of Shootout.

Hats off to the goalies too! What a way to lose a game, should have gone to 3 on 3 for a bit. IMHO

Congrats to the winners - Champ - Mighty Lakeville
2nd Wayzata
3rd Tonka
4th Chaska
5th Woodbury
6th IGH
7th Rochester
8th OMG

Congrats to the Lakeville team and my condolences to the Wayzata team and especially their goalie. What a game !!

I am a little unsure of the term "pwned" but I believe its a derivation of "owned".

3-2 over OMG doesn't look like pwned to me
4-1 over Chaska might possibly qualify as a pwned
8-7 (or 9-7 depending on how you count shootouts) also doesn't look like pwned.

Again, congrats to Lakeville. Going into the tournament I thought Woodbury would be the team to beat.

Have Lakeville and Woodbury played each other yet?

D8 v Metro @ Wayzata

Post by Gamblin D »

In da Metro we prefer to look on da winner side of tourney. If ye look dare -

1st round - 4 games, Metro wins 3-1
2nd round - only 1 game, Lakeville wins
3rd round - only 1 game. Lakeville wins

Looks like a 3 to 3 tie to me. Good thing for D8 that Lakeville signed up for da tourney.

From all you's D8 guys talkin' I thought da Woodbury or IGH would be the dominate team dis past wkend.

Where did dis Lakeville jugernaut come from? And who did they lose to in D8? Three loses while da Woodburries have 0 losses in D8.

Guess its why dey play de games.

D8 lakeville

Post by Coach77 »

Lakeville has lost to Woodbury twice 2-1 in league play and IGH 2-0 & tied 4-4 with IGH. We can talk all day about who is better but only 8 teams go to state so good luck to the 6 metro teams and 2 D8 teams that make it!!!! IGH lost to runnerup Wayzata-Blue 1-0 on a great game (hit the post with 3 seconds left) that's not getting killed? Woodbury beat IGH 3-2 twice this season and one 3-3 tie?? IGH 13-4-2 all loss by one goal???

Coach77

Gamblin D Metro has Hopkins,Chaska,Elk River & Tartan with no A teams?? IGH has never had a A team in it's history of Jr Gold, but Woodbury & Lakeville have had A teams before?? I heard Woodbury is going A next season and IGH returns only 2 players(14 seniors) I don't know about Lakeville if they will go A or not??? Coach77

i agree that is kinda of a joke, the roseville team that won it all last year and beat us in the championship game didnt have a "A" team. we still should have beaten them though

I dont think woodbury should be a A team, we can't just tell the "best jr gold B" team to play A. (not saying woodbury is the best), but theres always going to be a team thats better than the rest

Jr Gold A

Post by BJHockey10 »

Who said that there is only one J gold B team thats good enought to play at the A level. I think theres several teams at the b level that are good enough to play at the A level. besides, the difference between A and B isnt that much anyway.
