Hasting is a top 15 team for me. I'll be surprised if they win the section, but I think they have a great chance to beat North and will give South a game. The best part of the hockey sections is every team has a chance to shine. As opposed to the pros where only the top number of teams move on to the playoffs.

Top 15 would be just a tad high for my taste, but I think they can pretty much hang with anyone in the next ten (#16 thru #25) of Karl's list. It wouldn't surprise me to see them make the 1AA section final and give that team, likely LS, a run for their money.

Four (Cretin, Edina, Lakeville South, Roseau). CDH has actually been there in 6 of the 10 rankings issued, including preseason, one week in mid-December, and the past four. Edina lasted two, though they didn't play anyone in the first of their weeks. South and Roseau did not stick around.
Interesting. For all the talk of parity this year - and it exists - it really hasn't been reflected at the top of the rankings.

Cretin's schedule has been (and will be) pretty soft to close out the year. They may not budge from that top spot....
Hill should schedule CDH yearly. Why two with Edina?

That's my assessment, the cream of the crap.

I agree. I think Hill & Cretin should play regularly. Or at least with somewhat more regularity, which would be a step up from the zero games they play against each other right now. In fact, I can't think of the last time Hill & Cretin met in the regular season, save for a random Schwan's Cup tilt here and there. Honestly I'm not sure why they don't schedule each other. Maybe because Lechner is a Cretin grad! Mostly joking...

Looking back over the past ten seasons, I'd take back to back games with Edina over one with the Copyright Violators and one with Cre-tine*. There's just no question.

I'd like to see a playoff game between the champions of the SEC and the Tradition Rich Metro East. The two City conferences still do this in basketball, they used to do it in hockey. It would be a nice way for both teams to get an extra game with a quality opponent. Right before section play, we'd maybe see HM- WB, or HM - Stillwater. Or maybe WB vs. Mahtomedi.

*Those who were fortunate enough to attend HM during the tenure of Bro. Francis Carr will never forget how he always jabbed his crosstown rival Christian Brothers' school by calling it "Cre-tine". There must have been some good banter when the Brethren got together.
