GO RAMS!!norcon wrote: ↑Fri Dec 10, 2021 9:49 pm Proven once again tonight, that you get the worst homer reffing in the state when playing at Roseau. Rapids was up 3-1 going into the third when the refs decided they were not going to let Rapids leave Memorial Arena with a W. They called a 5 minute major on Rapids with six minutes left, followed by a two minute call shortly thereafter. Rams pull the goalie to go 6 on 3 and tie it up. There was a much more blatant hit on a Rapids player earlier in the period that easily could have been five minutes. Same old crap they’ve been getting away with for years. Un-f-ing believable!

Well, they must be banking on their sophomores learning how to play defense and playing with some sand prior to playoffs. Outside of #10 and #19, they're soft in that Soph forward group. Overall, outside of maybe 5-6 guys who are willing to hit / grind...soft. As it sits today, will they get out of the 6AA semis?Brodziak Fan Club wrote: ↑Sat Dec 11, 2021 12:26 pmBenilde not living up to preseason expectations? Shocking.

Agreed. That Wayzata game was eye opening. The Red Knights lost battle after battle in the corner, sometimes refusing to even go in. Wayzata completely shut down the middle of the ice, yet Benilde continued to attempt to skate through it and make long stretch passes that had zero chance. Not a single adjustment made. Finally, they showed a propensity to pass up shots in favor of the extra pretty pass which helps explain their 8 total shots in the last 2 periods.thefatcat wrote: ↑Sun Dec 12, 2021 12:23 pmWell, they must be banking on their sophomores learning how to play defense and playing with some sand prior to playoffs. I definitely wouldn't count them out in a one and done scenario, but they have a lot of work to do.
Re: Games Friday 12-10
Even Giles at Edina has decided to keep grinders on this years roster for the express reason of dealing with physical teams like Wayzata come playoff time...that and the talent pool there is a little thinner than years past where they'd just skate circles around everyone but you get the picture. So now you have two high end teams built to bang come 6AA playoffs...we'll see if BSM adjusts.Brodziak Fan Club wrote: ↑Sun Dec 12, 2021 2:05 pmAgreed. That Wayzata game was eye opening. Totally agree that Benilde’s young forwards are very skilled, but are going to have to learn to get pucks deep and not turn it over at the offensive blue line. Use their speed to create turnovers deep and and not get burned in transition. BSM/Cretin will be a good one Thursday.thefatcat wrote: ↑Sun Dec 12, 2021 12:23 pmWell, they must be banking on their sophomores learning how to play defense and playing with some sand prior to playoffs. Have not seen Edina or Wayzata yet, but will be at Aldrich Wednesday and Braemar this weekend.
