Looks like White Bear Lake knocked off Duluth East on a sole goal, 1-0.

White Bears top Lind of Roed, Newpower, and Schauer had 4 of the 5 goals. Roed was really good. Was 1-0 going into the 3rd. Steffens solid in goal.
Good hockey game. Physical.

Wow. WBL is either good this year, or Duluth East is down, or both.

I think the most encouraging thing from this game is the way Rapids could have folded and given-in. Instead this seemed a real character game to me. Like I reported after the BSM win, this is a very likeable GR team. They hustle, work together well, and seem tough-minded. It is early in the season, but it is nice to start the season with victories, rather than trying to rationalize moral victories.

You’re spot on. Tonka really took it to Rapids in the second period and early part of the third. I thought Carter Clafton held them in the game and then the boys responded to his great play and calm demeanor. Tonka has a really nice team. Their breakout was tough to defend all day. Best of luck to the Greenies but it could get ugly if they can’t match Tonka’s speed and tenacity.
