Just a reminder that our contest deadline is less than 2 hours away, so get your picks in for at least 1A before 7PM. As of right now we have 18 participating in Class A and another 32 in AA, so I've been kinda busy the past two days!

Also, RailingWizard check your Private Messages about your 5A and 7A scores, and Maverick2000 do you have a preference on which of your (double) posts I should record or are they identical?

FWIW: "River Lakes" is what the team has been known as all year - and in previous years - on the Hub. I don't know where "Northern Lakes" came from, but from what I can gather it appears to be in error on the MSHSL site. This team has been known as "River Lakes" for any number of years, so at least for the time being I'm sticking with it! For the time being I am changing all previous votes for "Northern Lakes" to "River Lakes" until there is positive proof that the name has been been officially changed to "Northern Lakes". In any case I believe we are talking about the same team - if not, maybe someone could please educate the group!

Taking on both Class A and AA, plus the much larger number of "entries" (53 total compared to just 17 last year!), pretty much did turn it into a full time job for a couple of days there! But the time-consuming part is now done, so from here on out it'll be easy.

Leaderboard is top heavy, which is to be expected this early with the Byes advancing and only one upset, one that everyone missed. In fact, 13 out of 20 had Orono going to the final, and 3 of those had them winning the section.

As of the end of day today, 9 prognosticators are tied for the lead, potting 17 of the available 18 points. So far, so good for me

but that probably won't last!

With all of Saturday's nine Class A games decided, here is your updated Leaderboard. With nearly all of the higher-seeded teams winning their games so far, the point totals remain very close. It appears that it'll come down to just a couple of sections where the predictions are pretty evenly split, plus a correct score or two.

Through today the maximum possible point total is 52, with 8 of those points being for correct scores in the 4 semifinal games already played. But nobody has guessed the scores in any of those 4 games, so the maximum point total on just wins and losses so far is 44.

By his usual high standards, sinbin had a bit of an off-day, which allowed a few of us mere mortals to at least temporarily pass him up:

There are just two lower seeded teams that have pulled upsets to make it as far as have: #5 Mahtomedi with a mild upset over #4 Chisago Lakes in Section 4A and the big one in 5A where #6 Princeton knocked out #3 Orono. All the other games have gone according to form. We'll see if that trend continues...

Thanks for the sharp eye, AAA Dad, I've corrected my post above. As with my error in the AA contest, this was another typo and does not affect the contest scoring...must have been getting a little drowsy late last night when putting these two posts together!
