Sadly, I have to work today. I am recording the game at home, but have given up any hope of avoiding scores throughout the day until I can view it at home afterwork.
I have the game app loaded from the startribune, but if anyone wants to share some of the game details as they unfold, I woud enjoy the reading.

%min left in the first, shots are 7-0 East. Pretty back and forth game though

East powerplay, still in the 1st.
East misses a wide open net on the PP. 0-0 at the end of the first.

so East had the only powerplay of the period?
Sounds pretty lopsided with a 10-1 shot advantage for East.
Has DE controlled most of the play?

Thirteen minute webstream-delay?

1-0 hounds and from the sounds of it, it could be worse. East has missed on several good scoring chances.
Are the Spuds doing anythiing in the offensive zone?

East up 1-0. Jack Kolar scores 5 hole as the goalie was getting re-positioned

I added to an earlier post, thus the delay.

The shots on goal are misleading, Moorhead is playing quite well. Both teams are getting chances, back and forth play, Spuds looking good on D. Good game so far.

Based on twitter postings, looks like it's more of an 8-9 minute delay. Going to have to turn off phone and minimize open screens to avoid being spoiled in third period.
After yesterday's blowouts, it's great to see Moorhead hanging around.

Yikes! The end of that game took a few months off my lifespan.
Hounds win!

Great game!
Is the Spuds' goalie Bitzer 2.0? Kid looks great and is only a soph.

Very entertaining, high-level game.
DE will be a tough out.

I missed the big hit on the Moorhead player. Anyone have a clip? The announcers made it sound clean. Did the Spud return?

Yes, it was clean. He tried to come back but was unable to. Feel bad for the kid, being their leading scorer in such a close game. Ill tip my spud to moorhead, way to go east

I don't have a clip, but the hit was clean. He tried to run the gauntlet between two East defensemen at the blue line. The first East player hit him pretty good and he bounced off into another East player, who also turned him around.
The poor kid had to be helped off the ice in the first period after he took a puck off the side of his knee. He guts it up and gets back out there for the second, only to be destroyed on the blue line. Hopefully, he's okay!

Nick Uglem isn't their leading scorer, but he is in the top 4. Tough game for Nick. He showed a lot of guts getting back out there after taking the puck to the knee. It might be the same knee he hurt against Brainerd in the section championship last week too.
I was pleasantly surprised at how close the game was. The Spuds played better defensively than they have against other top teams all season. But Dittmer was the real story. He made some huge saves to keep it close.
I hope East plays better tomorrow night against Edina! Go Hounds!

After watching Edina come out of the gates against Lake. North, they had better.

Well, I won't give the Hounds many style points for that one, but when you're playing on Friday night, you don't complain. Props to the Spuds for really tightening up defensively between the first game and this one, and Dittmer had a big night as well. The Hounds easily could have rolled if they'd popped in one of those early chances, but instead they had to just lock down and survive.
Press conference notes to come shortly on the press box thread. Some interesting stuff there.

Hey Karl,
little better start to the tourney for the Hounds than last year though, hah?

Oh, a million times better.
I like having the early game, too. Gives me plenty of time to de-stress and just enjoy the rest of the day's games, instead waiting for it all day.

My sentiments about the game may be more similar to Karl's than the rest who've posted comments. This was a boring game. There was very little offense period. Good thing I had some NoDoz. The only goal was very soft. Anyone whining about the two northern schools meeting in the first round have nothing to complain about now. Thank God it wasn't a semi or a final.
I haven't seen a game this uninteresting since last Friday when I saw the Section 4AA final. Moorhead's best scoring chance came two seconds after the final horn sounded.
As for the Hounds, they made it to Friday night. That's the goal every season, because once you've made it to Friday night far anything can happen.

Settle down. I guess our northern public schools just can't put an offensive juggernaut on the ice year after year... like the private cities schools do.
