wbw, since you missed the deadline....unfortunately, no, I can't count them officially. And having missed 7 games it would be impossible for you to make up so much lost ground anyway.... sorry!

To all:

Watch for the final contest (Week 12) to be posted Thursday evening. This is much earlier than normal and the reason for this is that I'll be out of town from Friday morning through late Sunday night. For this last week there will also be two Monday night games, so posting them on Thursday will give everyone a little extra time to mull over their picks for a Monday, January 30 deadline!

For the current week Silent But Deadly has graciously agreed to track and report on the remaining results, starting with Friday's SSP/Hill-Murray game. Keep a close eye on him because - like me - he is currently way behind, in the "Three with 2" category! :P  :P

Just one of three results have been posted so far:

Orono 4, Buffalo 1
No. 5A-ranked Orono scored the first four goals and went on to beat the Bisons 4-1. The Spartans’ Emily Knight had a goal and an assist and Casey Hartfiel gave up just one goal on 32 shots.

Despite Orono’s No. 5 Class A ranking, a solid majority of our prognosticators – 10 of 15 – thought Buffalo would win this one. HOWEVER, two that were in the 5 person minority – D16Dad and ayhfan – also correctly forecasted the 4-1 score and each earn the extra point.

Hope to have another update before retiring for the night. If not, Silent But Deadly will bring you up to speed, sometime tomorrow.

Thanks for letting us know the score!

Despite Mounds View having a little higher LPH ranking than Andover, the majority (10 of 15) thought Andover would prevail. And once again two of us (capitalpride and ME - finally!) also got the 3-2 score right. So with the Chaska/Chanhassen vs. Mound-Westonka result still outstanding, our leaderboard has tightened up a little:

1. D16Dad - 7
Nordic - 7

3. hckynut12 - 6
sinbin - 6

5. ayhfan - 5
capitalpride - 5
hockeyfan87 - 5

8. Knight7 - 4
Hieronymus - 4
MNHockeyFan - 4
FlyingWarrior - 4
mnhockey3535 - 4
KRACH - 4

14. One with 3

15. One with 1

Look for another update sometime on Friday.

Late results from Thursday:

Mound-Westonka 5 Chaska/Chan 4 in OT!!!!!!

Only 3 picked Mound-Westonka to prevail....Nordic, hkynut12 and Knight7 get the point. There were no correct scores but the point puts Nordic into first place!

H-M 10 SSP 2 OUCH!

MNHockeyFan and I pick up a point! Too bad for us....EVERYBODY picked Hill on this one so we didn't make up any ground! Needless to say no one got that score right!

The standings are:

1. Nordic - 9

2. D16Dad - 8
hckynut12 - 8

4. sinbin - 7

5. ayhfan - 6
capitalpride - 6
hockeyfan87 - 6
Knight7 - 6

9. Hieronymus - 5
MNHockeyFan - 5
FlyingWarrior - 5
mnhockey3535 - 5
KRACH - 5

14. One with 4

15. One with 2

Look for another update sometime on Saturday.

Late results from Saturday:

H-M 3 BSM 1
Blake 6 Red Wing 1
Minnetonka 3 Edina 0
Orono 8 Hutchinson 6
White Bear Lake 2 Stillwater 2

I would say that I didn't "see that coming" for several of the results but based on my score this week.......that was true for almost every game!

No correct scores for any of the games!

The final standings are:

1. Nordic - 12

2. hckynut12 - 11

3. D16Dad - 10
sinbin - 10
ayhfan - 10
capitalpride - 10
Knight7 - 10

8. mnhockey3535 - 9

9. MNHockeyFan - 8
hockeyfan87 - 8
FlyingWarrior - 8

12. KRACH - 7
Hieronymus - 7

14. Silent But Deadly - 6

One picker at 4! You know who your are!

Just arrived back home from my out-of-town trip, and once again I would like to thank Silent But Deadly for keeping things updated while I was gone.

And a big CONGRATS to Nordic for finishing in 1st Place for the second time this season! I think most others would agree that Week 11 was a much tougher than average bunch of games to predict the outcomes, at least correctly! That's my excuse anyway, and I'm sticking to it!

As we head into the final regular season contest - Week 12 - I plan to update the year-to-date results and post them soon.

Also, once the sections are seeded, I'll also try to get some kind of a separate playoff contest going for anyone that's interested.
