New Prague 7
Prior Lake 2
Edina White 1
Edina Green 0
Lopsided game to say the least. Green probably outshot them 2-1 but doesn't matter if you can't score any goals.
I look for New Prague to go to Saturday's games with no losses. Edina White vs Edina Green again on Friday to see who will try to take down New Prague back to back games Saturday and Sunday for a chance at the 1 seed.

heh heh! Thats funny, maybe Edina should have 2 A teams at each level along with the other large assoc.s instead of filling up their trophy cases.NP came from a weak D4 district and don't even compare in numbers to them. They finished the top seed no matter if they have a "A team or not. Maybe it evens up the playing field a bit. I would think the HS coaches from Edina, Wayzata, OMG, etc., would like to have multiple A teams to get a broader look at what they have coming up!!

Love weakminded people....A lot of B1 players from Edina end up on the Varsity, or PW A or Bantam A so really no need to do 2 A teams when kids at B1 are looked at as well.
New Prague has two decent players other than that really not much to the team. I think their biggest asset is they only have 11 skaters. Much easier to get kids to gain confidence when they are going out every other shift.
Thanks and have a nice day.

Hey Pinky - I haven't seen New Prague this year but it almost sounded like you were describing Chisago Lakes B1's. Two very good players with 11-12 skaters (well conditioned). Have you seen Chisago? Are the two teams a little similar in your opinion?

Yeah I have seen them play, very similar, chisago has probably 1 very skilled player that is very quick. Smaller so if you take body he gets discouraged but you gotta catch him. Big goalie and pretty conditioned.
Again: Great advantage rolling every other shift. Kids get a lot of confidence and gets them in a good rolling momentum
Disadvantage: Consecutive games in a row will wear them out come playoffs where you need to win back to back games

What was D3 thinking by not having double elimination with 2 moving on. Top team not able to get a shot at state . Good thing we get lacrescent buffalo Purple, and some St. Cloud team. Thats the breaks, but definitely one of the best teams I saw all year in peewee B1. STMA would not have gotten out of district 3 and now they are a #1 seed.
Minnesota Hockey needs to go away from random to awarding strong districts with more spots. Too many good teams at all levels getting the shaft due to political correctness. Once again, some regions will be a joke.

Are you clueless?? You have both Wayzata Blue and Wayzata Navy going? It rotates every year. Learn how to look at the Minnesota youth hockey website you moron.
Plus D5 has STMA as 1 seed, St cloud red as 2 and buffalo as 3.
Blue has been the best team from Day 1

Pretty sure STMA finished ahead (3rd) of all D3 teams in the Maple Grove 32 team tourney.

Maybe with eleven Peewee teams, Wayzata could try what Moorhead is doing and skate a second A team instead of chasing trophys around with their 200+ kids?
Their high school teams would be better year in and year out if their top 40-50 kids weren't used to breezing through a season with 4-5 losses.

The best two teams from District 3 did make it - not sure what your point is? If your kid wants a shot at state, move him to Edina, STMA or St. Cloud.

I am not from Wayzata and my kid made it to regions, though not at the PWB1 Level. Just like to see the best make it regardless. Plenty of other tough luck situations in other districts.

Lots of good teams here. I like Stillwater Red as the #1 seed to state, and Centennial Red as the #2 seed.

I think it's great that kids from smaller associations get a chance to experience these type of tournaments. Will they win, maybe not but they enjoy playing the best teams in the state and I think they deserve that opportunity.

I agree - last year an unranked B1 Bantam team from Tartan ended up winning the State Title. I believe they defeated Wayzata and Blaine in the State Tournament. Those are momories that nobody can take away from some those kids from Tartan. It is tough when great teams have a down game or two but it can open a door for a team that is red hot. This is why rankings don't really mean much in my opinion.

Wow - West Regional is definitely going to be a meat grinder. Has anyone out there had a chance to see the team from Walker/Leech Lake? I have heard they have had a real nice season. Have they played any metro teams?
My prediction for state going into Regions:
Edina Green
Wayzata Blue
Chisago Lakes
Stillwater Red
Walker/Leech Lake
East Grand Forks
Rosemount
Lakeville South

Just sorta crossed my mind. For the last 3 seasons the team that has won the Edina Holiday Classic has yet to win the State Championship in the same year.
2009 - Edina Green won Classic over Elk River. Elk River beat Edina Green in State
2010 - Edina White won Classic over Edina Green. Edina Green beat Edina White in state.
2011 - Wayzata Gold won Classic and now doesn't have chance at state.
It's cursed !!!!

Who'd Gold beat in the Classic? I'd like to go find a sports book that'll take my money on them.
