Rau gets my vote. But seriously how can Tim Bonner of Osseo not be a finalist? He's going to be the NWSC player of the year. I still think Rau is the top player in the state for my money.

Just saying If Jonny Brodzinksi is a Canidate Bonner should be since I think most that have seen both players would agree Bonner is better all around Player. just find it strange is all but i have no Honest Idea how the come up with the list so who knows.

This, IMHO, is the major problem with the award... no transparency. The conspiracy theories can never be snuffed out completely, but if they want us to believe that the Gopher recruits aren't favored, show us that the selection panel isn't made up entirely of former Gopher players... or maybe it is?

Brodzinski made a big splash in the Elite league and on the all star team. Bonner missed part of Elites due to injury but did put up equal numbers on a per game basis.

Bonner had more games vs weak teams this HS season, part of the reason for more points.

Brodzinski has more size and strength which equals more potential in the eyes of the scouts/committee.

Brodzinski has a cannon of a shot and great instincts and vision. Bonner is a tad quicker and maybe a bit more dangerous rushing the puck.

Blaine vs Osseo in two games: Bonner 1pt, Brodzinski 5pts.

Where will they be in two years?

Both must succeeed in juniors to get to D1, but a lot more eyes are on Brodzinski at this point.

Who would I'd rather have on my HS team right now? That's a tough call.

Given HS careers and current numbers, the edge goes to Rau.

Given the history of selections and that numbers don't mean all that much to this committee, I'd go with a defenseman over a forward, as there is no high end draft pick from this year's class of forwards like a Brock Nelson or Nick Bjugstad. I see LaBate as a higher pick over Rau for the NHL, but both behind Ambroz (USHL).

This leaves the choice between Harvard bound Everson vs Wisconsin bound Daly. Another tough call. USA hockey likes Everson as he is a '93 whereas Daly is a '92.

So my money (all of two cents) is on Max Everson.

I agree Brodzinksi has played a tuffer schedule over all but he also has a better over all team IMO which helps. end of the day its a toss up I agree. if they meet in the semi Finals will see who gets the last word.
